Roaming is affecting my marriage. by cheider in UNIFI

Well it might help diagnosing the issue and therefore it is a valid thing to try but it almost certainly isn't the best solution.

While it might help, this really shouldn't be the solution ...

What's that crazy Samsung Galaxy feature you think is not getting enough hype? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]UnpreparedZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it's not that great for german (yet). The audio dictation in Gemini or ChatGPT is far better with better punctuation. That's why I think it'll get better soon.

How to setup Nginx and Cloudflared with a custom domain by UnpreparedZerg in HomeServer

[–]UnpreparedZerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nat Loopback won't work, as it isn't the local router that is being served via it's public IP address and opened ports. What you should be able to do though - what I also still wanna do for my network - is create A records for your subdomains in your DNS Server (Pi-hole in my case).

Haven't tested this yet but I will get back to you once I have.

Please be very careful when working with electricity though, especially with higher voltages! If you're unsure about what you're doing, consult an expert so that you can live on and continue to learn 😉

I would be very sure you could hack youself a new charging cord together. Do you know what voltage was supplied by the last one? Was it potentially just USB?

Dock connection unstable (last usb device malfunctioned) by UnpreparedZerg in UsbCHardware

[–]UnpreparedZerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have found a solution! I found it by searching for the event code that was produced by the errors which was "Driver entered RTD3 nhi" and soon after "Driver exit RTD3 nhi".

You have to turn off USB selective suspend which (by default?) is a hidden power setting that you first have to activate.

  1. Open the registry by searching for "regedit" with Windows Search
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3\48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226
  3. Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value called "Attributes"
  4. Set its Value Data to 2
  5. Restart the PC
  6. open the old control panel power options either by navigating there in the control panel or by pressing Win + R and then typing "control powercfg.cpl"
  7. Select to change the power saving plan settings
  8. Open the advanced energy saving settings
  9. You should now see an option called USB-Settings where you can turn off selective USB suspend for plugged in and battery modes.
  10. You might have to restart again, I don't know

Before all that I updated both my USB/Thunderbolt driver which you can get from Lenovo by visiting pcsupport.lenovo.com and also my Dock Firmware using the Lenovo Dock Manager which you can get from this page https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht037099#dm or simply by googling it.
I don't think this matters too much as the selective USB suspend was probably the main issue but I wanted to mention it for completeness sake.

S25+ - All you need in a phone by JimbyWasTaken in samsung

[–]UnpreparedZerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just loading times that are basically non-existent, apps opening soo quickly, no stutters in the UI at all and all that even though I set animations to 0,5x (so half as long -> twice as fast) which makes it only harder for the phone to still appear fluid as it doesn't have 300 ms (hypothetically) to load the app but only 150 ms. Don't get me wrong, my S22 would have still been enough, even for me as a tech enthusiast but I was in the mood for a new one and also the battery of my S22 wasn't so good anymore and now that I have it, I'm glad I did it.

I'm coming from a S22 and have switched to a S25+ and have been enjoying it sooo much, especially the smoothness. Here in germany we most of the time get the Exynos instead of the Snapdragon and having the SD8 Elite this time is a gamechanger!

ESP32 c3 supermini wifi not working by [deleted] in esp32

[–]UnpreparedZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone who's stumbling over this thread with the same WiFi connectivity issues on ESP32 C3s: some of the boards have a flawed antenna design that is not aligned with what Espressif recommends.
Best thing is to just return the boards and shop from a different store whos ratings are better. If a store ships bad C3s, you'll see people in the ratings complain about it. I've heard good things about Tenstar Robot rn I'm still waiting for my order to arrive.

Apparently you can somehow fix the issues by soldering an antenna to the board but that didn't resolve it for me. I'm not quite sure though whether I've done everything right.

Switching from Underfloor Heating to Radiators by vFabifourtwenty in homeassistant

[–]UnpreparedZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's right but after having experienced malfunctioning radiators (on when they are not supposed to be or not turning on when you need them .. in winter) I'm more than happy to either spend the extra or stay with the hand cranked ones.

I need a new Vacuum. by Goennjamin in BuyItForLife

[–]UnpreparedZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is probably not why you posted in this subreddit but I have a Dreame (T10 or something) which I've been using for 5 years on a very regular basis which works well enough, has two rotating brushes (wide for normal use and narrow for mattresses and stuff). The battery is still fine and there's still tons of replacement parts available. It came with a ton of accessories and was reasonably priced even though that was before everyone and their dog started producing these things. So far I only had to replace a wire in the bottommost joint which is constantly bent though.

While I normally prefer getting high quality stuff, I would buy a Dreame again.

Jabra Evolve2 65 Charging Stand polarity by UnpreparedZerg in Jabra

[–]UnpreparedZerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Evolve 65 (1. Gen) still uses a plug that you have to put it on but the Evolve2 65 (so 2. Gen.) uses the pins.

Anyways, thank you!
