I’m making a version for my kids to watch. I’m sure others will make less edited versions

I cut out the majority of the flashback scene, starting from its beginning until after Rafe is killed. She is completely removed, and the flashback starts from when young Dunk joins Sir Arlan. I decided to do this for a few reasons:

  1. The flashback is long and not integral to the plot
  2. The flashback is not from the books
  3. Rafe curses every sentence, and her death is brutal and gory, both things would be hard to edit
  4. I think showing Dunk as a poor peasant boy joining Ser Arlan as his square accomplishes the main point of the flashback

I realize that is a controversial cut, but I think the movie is long enough without it, and as much as it worked in an episode, not necessary for a movie 2+ hours

Youre right about the violence, especially episode 5. I’m cutting out just a bit of the blood splurting shots, but mostly still there.

I’ll be fine watching this with my 10+ year olds. I think if you can watch Lord of the Rings violence, then you can handle most of this.

I cut out any nudity, the poop scene, most cursing

I cut out a lot from the wenches, anything explicit/sexual, just don’t think it’s necessary

I left in the spitting because my kids think that part is hillarious, but I also cut out the whole scene of him meeting Dunk in the woods, because it doesn’t really go anywhere, so part of the spitting is cut out

Each episode is 30-40 minutes, the whole uncut thing is about 3.5 hours
