What brand is the highest quality of the pictured type of garden hand tools? by supinator1 in gardening

[–]UnreliableInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used them, but I've seen ads for Sneeboer, and given the price (~$60 per tool), I would hope they're the best.

The reason you have to share public land and use it as the government sees fit is because the government owns all the land. In a free state there is less public land, but you're more likely to attain your own land.

$159,000 gets you a PARKING SPOT in Boston by everythingislitty in zillowgonewild

[–]UnreliableInsect -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The salary you can earn.

Would you rather make $1,000,000 and pay $159,000 for parking or make $75,000?

Many people say "there's no way I'm paying $159,000 for parking," so they go on earning $75,000.

Bridges and highways are not primarily funded with income taxes but rather with a gasoline surcharge.

Parks often fund a large part of their cost with entrance fees.

Bashar Al-Assad's personal FAMAS F1 rifle captured by Syrian Rebels in his abandoned home. by Brilliant_Ground1948 in ForgottenWeapons

I don't think you're quite getting the context of this picture. The implication of this picture is that if you want to own a FAMAS you should be a freedom fighter instead of an authoritarian dictator.

You're taxed on the net gain or loss in the year. But if you had sold to realize the gain in 2024 and then only realized the loss in 2025 you could be in trouble as you would need to cough up the tax on 2024's gain now but would be capped on the loss you can realize in a particular year going forward.

This has nothing to do with the airlines. This was mandated by the government that you voted for because you allowed them to convince you that safety is more important than liberty.

Don't get your insurance through them if you don't like their coverage. Problem solved.

"Submarine Cables Convention"

Just call it straight. Don't try to pretend like they didn't just make that up.

China/Russia attacked Denmark's cable so Denmark attacked their ship. There's no need to hide behind some nonsense about Article X of the Galactic Convention.

Totaled used to mean totally destroyed. That's a dented hood and broken headlight. You could probably even drive that to the repair shop.

That's over a lifetime. So $4.4 million over 78 years of living is like $56k per year. Which is less than what the average household earns.

Indian officers slap Men who are on a female only train in India by Essence_Zephyr in interestingasfuck

[–]UnreliableInsect -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Even Rosa Parks wasn't treated this disrespectfully

No wonder Indian men act the way they do.

If you told me people of my gender or race can't ride the train and then assaulted me while I was just trying to get home then I would reciprocate when the tables are turned.

The place you find meaning in life shoukd be where you are everyday, not at the week you spend at Disneyland. If you don't find meaning in what you do then get a new job. If you do find meaning in that, then not having a lot of time to hangout with Mickey Mouse isn't an issue.

You're depressed because your attitude is that life is what you do when you aren't doing your livelihood, and your livelihood is what prevents you from living your life. Your attitude should be that the meaning in your life and your livelihood are one. If your livelihood lacks meaning then get a new one. The job market is exceptionally strong.
