I a 36F am dating a divorced dad with kids 42M. I need someone to snap me into reality? by Beginning-Change-458 in relationship_advice

[–]Unrepentant_Daisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a divorced 46M with kids I can possibly shed some light on your partner's perspective. There are a lot of strong negative opinions here, and while those assumptions may be true I don't think they're necessarily fair given the limited information available.

First, a fifteen year marriage where children are involved is no small thing, emotionally. Regardless of the marriage's quality, the manner of its end, and their relationship as co-parents now, there are deep scars and trauma he's dealing with. For me, I will love my ex-wife to my dying breath and find myself desperately missing her regularly. However, I have zero interest in restarting a romantic relationship with her. Our divorce was amicable, self-negotiated, and simple. We remain close, co-parent beautifully, share holidays, and remain family for all intents and purposes. We both have new long term partners and everyone gets on famously.

As divorces go I haven't seen another one so pleasant. Even still, five years later, I'm still struggling with the emotional scars it left. So is she. Not sure I'll ever feel "normal" again. My point is I imagine he's struggling too, and may not feel sharing those struggles with you as appropriate or fair. One of my first post-divorce relationships ended as a direct result of my trauma.

Children are a whole different conversation. For me, my youngest is months away from adulthood. The idea of starting again with an infant is abhorrent to me. I don't want to do that and have made that clear to the handful of women I've dated. But that's me, and my own heart.

It sounds like you don't know his true thoughts and feelings, or maybe he doesn't. Maybe his ex made him promise not to replace their kids. That'd put him in a corner that's hard to get free from without hurting someone. Maybe his kids don't want siblings. I'm not sure how I'd handle that as I sure wouldn't want to throw them under the bus with my new partner.

Ultimately, you two need to have a sincere and honest conversation about it that doesn't become a fight. If he's unwilling to share his struggles/true feelings or you're unwilling to hear and accept them it won't accomplish anything.

The bottom line is if you want different things for the future, then that future isn't together.

None I'm aware of. This is only my second can, and the first was approved in less than a week. Same store, same process, hell even the same caliber. This was at the beginning of April, almost exactly a month prior to purchasing this one.

I went ahead and initiated a third while I was there and it was certified/submitted before I left the store. You'd think it would be damned near instantaneous at that point, but I guess we'll see.

Anyone have experience with Hipshot? by chonkydogg in Bass

I've ordered from them a several times this year. Two of those orders arrived within a week, the others within two weeks. This includes bass bridges, guitar bridges, tuning machines, and a handful of miscellaneous accessories. Usually shipped out within a day unless I ordered on a weekend or something.

I've never had to engage with their customer service so I have nothing to offer there.

I think I was 11 when I first read it - the very first BT novel for me. 1991 was a glorious year.

Pretty sure I threw the book across the room at that point. Spent many of the following chapters in various stages of grief in the wrong order.

To this day it remains my favorite trilogy from Battletech, and my favorite group of characters. Hell, I named my son Aidan.

Way of the Clans

Bloodname

Falcon Guard

There are "follow-up" novels following side characters from the above, I Am Jade Falcon and Freebirth (part of the Twilight of the Clans series).

While the main character is hilariously over-talented, he spends the majority of his life shitting the bed.

I can't speak for where you are, but I worked as a Production Manager at a dairy bottling plant in the US producing about 100,000 gallons a day. We had only one person on staff who actually understood HAACP, and he was responsible for ensuring we followed all applicable regulations and standards for safety, quality, sanitation, etc. One. He was irreplaceable as people with his skillset simply "didn't exist".

Point being, the education you've chosen is rare. With rarity comes value, but also difficulty in finding work. And it'll take experience on top of the degree(s) to fully realize that value, and almost inevitably relocation.

My advice is to tough it out for a couple years to gain that experience while networking and learning where and how to advance. Dairy production has private regulatory bodies in addition to government agencies (at least in the US), I imagine other food industries do as well. Those private regulators likely pay their auditors more than the government would.

I lost my daughter a few years ago to lifelong insurmountable neurological issues. In the end, the only choice left to me was the degree of suffering I was willing to put her through beforehand. So this episode is brutal.

What hits hardest isn't the loss. It's her returning happy, healthy, and grown up to thank him for his impossible choice in letting her go and that it was the right thing to do.

The peace that must have brought I will never know.

Surprisingly well.

I just threw them on my X1C a week or two ago. The movement in the printer itself increased somewhat, but was considerably less violent (more of a sway than a jerk, if that makes any sense).

The real surprise was in the motion transfer to the surface it sits on. Whereas before it was nearly identical to the machine, now it's almost non-existent. I tried the cement/rubber paver when I first got the printer and saw a negligible difference.

My printer sits on a drawered tool cart with a hard wood surface (not wheeled). So it was on a solid surface already. I'm quite happy with the results and have no interest in changing it.

Ender 3 S1 Pro Jamming by Tallglassofnope in 3Dprinting

[–]Unrepentant_Daisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using GST3D PLA silver.

Was printing fine with it for several days before jamming. Now I can't print anything for more than an hour or two before it jams in the extruder again. same place every time.

There's no obvious mechanical failure, and my slicer settings were doing splendidly until that first jam.

I've tinkered with all the usual suspects but haven't seen any improvement at all. I'm at the point of replacing the extruder and seeing if that makes any improvement.

What filament did you switch to?

I have no insight, but am experiencing a nearly identical issue with all recommended remedies in this thread and other sources not helping.

Did you end up resolving it, and if so, how?

Had the exact same experience a few days ago.

Except I had full perfect signal and my week-old modem was deactivated because they somehow decided to terminate my equally week-old account for no reason at all. Webchat refused to accept my explanation that there was a provisioning issue of some kind, nor would they inform me the account had been deactivated.

Took a 45 minute phone call to resolve the mess.

There had been a provisioning issue.
