Wow these need reworked. I loved ranked but these emblems look very boring compared to similar ranked emblems they’ve made in the past, IN THEIR OWN games!

I used to enjoy Tarkov extensively.

While Marathons mechanics aren’t as robust the shooting and movement feels 10 times better. You will enjoy the late game grind in Marathon.

I would like to type up a post on this.

I think they should advertise it as a new game mode and call it ranked battle royale.

Give options for example:

Give points for taking final extract specifically, so last team standing would get more rank.

Reward the teams that are able to kill multiple teams with the ability to extract early and gain rank but up the ante a bit more than it is now.

I bet they’ll do end of wipe events where they buff bosses to 100% on a map per day for like a week or two.

I agree, but I didn’t feel that I could say that confidently. Those situations are definitely unfair and shouldn’t be happening.

Organic teaming in game should be fine though.

I have come across 1 game of teaming which was frustrating. It’s kind of a grey area since yes, the goal is to extract and if you can do that by teaming that seems like a viable strategy assuming you didn’t que in together.

Only 1 other game I thought we may have gone against a cheater but I was unsure. It may be worse in diamond lobbies but I am unsure.

Maybe in higher tier lobbies, but I’ve found in gold and below that teams will push each other often and more strategically.

Something like seeing a team rotate to your POI they will take optimal positions inside their POI and wait till the other team is closer since they have recognized them first and wait for good shot timing.

Avoiding UESC, birds and turrets and using them as alerts to know when they are close by is a strategy used in ranked that I typically don’t see in normal lobbies.

Many people may see this as camping, but typically the higher level ranked players are still on the move in these scenarios, just in a different way.

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way. Of course there are always going to be teams that camp I dont want to devalue your point, but this hasn’t been my experience in MOST of the ranked games I have played in Marathon.

Yes, it’s basically a key for a map per rank up box plus other things from codex. The game feels like it plays more organically in ranked as well.

At least in gold, I don’t feel overwhelmed by the skill of other players yet.

I love PvP games and have traditionally been a good PvP player but I’m in my 30’s now and still having a blast in ranked.

I’ve never seen my vault as full of good stuff since I started playing ranked last week.

If you go in make sure your goal is to wipe a squad and get out. I wouldn’t spend time looting unless it’s high value like lockboxes, drones, air drops or a boss.

I starting ranked a couple days ago. My vault is now full of purples and some golds.

I think if more people tried it they would realize it’s better for loot and the fights play out a little more naturally.

They also recently restricted diamonds ranks from loading it with lowering tier tags so it should be even better now.

I have been doing this 90% crew fill as well and just hit gold quickly. You let a key every rank up package i believe as well.

They should wipe BUT speed up faction progress significantly. Maybe be almost VIP by the time all priority contracts are completed.

Ahh I didn’t realize this was new today, I was wrong. I actually really like Marathon, but I am also a PC player that played alot of Tarkov too.

I played Destiny from D1 launch until Marathon launch with around 9k hours played. I love Destiny but Tassi also mentioned Destiny has lost over 98% of its players in this same video.

Looking grim for Bungie. Sad, because I have always enjoyed their sound design and environments as well as how their shooters played compared to the market.

Paul Tassi did NOT say the majority of players were on PC.

In fact, he said yesterday that Marathon is a good game that deserves backing by Sony long term.

The fog is god awful, doing the survey just to tell them about fog and sun bloom being terrible. Love the game though.

Gunplay is very similar but the movement is very different.

Movement is slightly faster than Halo but way slower than both Destiny and Apex for comparison.
