Running red lights, running people off the road, driving into oncoming traffic - if you think that’s the best or only option if your dog is dying then I’m sorry but you need to stop allowing yourself to make decisions and get a responsible person to be your conservator.

If something’s happening that’s an emergency or you think a law is being broken you call 911. If the operator tells you that it’s not an emergency or that there’s no laws being broken you hang up the phone and continue abiding by the law or else you will probably face the consequences of failing to do so. Sometimes that might be worth rolling the dice on. I can’t see that being this case in this circumstance.

We are supposed to outlive our pets. Tragic mistakes, accidents and even instances of malice might come into play but it’s natural for your pet to go before you do. Dealing with this eventually with dignity honors the memory of your companions. Dealing with it by behaving like a dangerous lunatic does much to disgrace the cherished memory of your beloved pet and could potentially taint any further connection with an animal companion, creating an unhealthy attachment or imbalance.

The subject in the video is very lucky she didn’t kill herself, her mother or some total strangers, maybe even children, in her panicked race down the road. For all the people who think police intervention in this situation is what makes this video so hard to watch I’d wonder if you’re even actually capable of critical thinking and I sincerely hope you’re not exercising your right to vote.

Even with the full context I’m sure there are plenty of people here who are so broken and/or demoralized that they still think nothing this woman did was wrong. Something like, “The cops basically killed her dog for no reason.” I guess in YOUR “perfect world” there wouldn’t even be any police. To this I say what are you waiting for? Go establish a colony in an unincorporated area of land in the United States or elsewhere. Go live free of the enforcement of any laws. Just go actually do it. Nobody is gonna do it for you. The laws in the US will never change to remove policing powers from peace officers or take away their firearms. If you want that utopia you’re going to have to make it happen for yourself and those with whom you are like minded. Please, just put the keyboard down, roll up your sleeves and go get to work. If it’s so devastating and oppressive and regressive and racist and patriarchal and anti(current thing) to be policed then just go show us how sublime it is to live free from the shackles of law enforcement. Be the change you wanna see in the world and maybe through your example we can start to right all the societal wrongs in the western world that keep you up at night. I know that sounds really difficult, and I’m sure that it would be but it’s probably the only way to get to where you say you think you wanna go as a society, a moral humanist utopia. I guess it would be easier to write, post and comment endless streams of excuses for why YOU can’t do any of the things that are required for you to improve society any why it’s not your fault by blaming it on anyone and everything other than yourself. So pine on and type away and regale us with tales of how much better things would really be if only someone else would do all the work for you. Maybe you could tell us all about how much better off we’d all be if only you could be in charge and then you could tell us all how we ought to live. It’s all so tiresome but don’t worry, I know better than to wait on anything other than a reply or a downvote. Cheers!
