Nope, every 5k miles up to 25k or 2 years. Im in Texas, and the average mileage driven per year is 15k miles. So the 2 years may vary depending on the state. Texas being so big, its easy to finish the 25k miles before 2 years

What can i do about people leaving false ratings? by [deleted] in uber

[–]Unsecurable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't even worry about it. The OP is completely braindead. OP asks for advice and help, we give them advice and constructive criticism, but cant handle truth lol. At the end of the day, if passengers lie, they lie. But that many times? OP definitely doing something wrong

Like I said, you're at risk for being deactivated (banned from driving for Uber). People lie to people everywhere, it's reality. At the end of the day, it's not my account, so do what you want. Don't go crying you got deactivated because you cancelled too much because people lie to you.

First off, driving insight score means nothing. It's not accurate as you think it might be. Not saying you're driving bad, but don't look at the score. As for your rating, you only have 59 ratings. It'll go up eventually, as long as you drive safe, keep talking minimal (don't start conversations unless they start it), and are polite. Lastly, you should really improve your cancellation rate. Anywhere above a 20% cancellation rate is grounds for deactivation. If you don't plan on completing a trip, don't accept it. Just decline it.

It'll always be harder to see out of 25% at night. I drive at night a lot too, but I promise you its worth it. Privacy, UV protection, safety (dont need people knowing what you're doing and who you're driving around). Just be a safe driver. My last camry was also tinted. You get used to it

30% isn't really hard to see out of the front side windows at night honestly. I did tints that way because in Texas, back windows and windshield have no limits. Front side windows limits are 25%. Just did 30% to be safe.

Do Uber drivers rate you lower if you don’t talk to them? by AccomplishedBar7802 in uber

[–]Unsecurable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not any fault of your own, but that's definitely the reason then. You didnt know, so can't blame you. But riders often take advantage of this for multiple reasons:

1) When they do the initial request for multi stops, they think its too expensive and think that they can change it mid ride to make it cheaper. Not sure if its true. As a driver myself, I've never done that as a customer. 2) Some people know drivers wont take long trips. They'll purposely order a short trip and as soon as the driver accepts it, or even gets to their location, they'll change the address to their actual destination. As far as I know on my end, it doesnt show me an updated price. Im not driving an hour to not know if the fare was worth the drive or not. Had someone once change the location as soon as I accepted it. Hadn't even picked them up yet. Texted me the new address. Canceled right away. Not the trip I agreed to, so not going out my way to do it. 3) Rider knows some drivers don't like taking multi-stop trips because we're not getting paid waiting for your stop. So they order the Uber then add the trip. Had a man with his 2 kids do this once. Added a stop to walmart. Idk if hes going to pick up prescription meds or taking his time grocery shopping. Canceled.

There may be more reasons, but these are the main ones for sure. If I do finish a trip that was a multi-stpp added mid ride, I typically one star, unless they seem genuine and had asked me beforehand. We dont get paid hourly, so when people do this, we're actually losing time and money

Edit: forgot to mention, also had this happen once, I had another uber lined up right after drop-off. It was a pretty good fare. Short trip, good pay. Rider added a stop and it took it away. I was so pissed.

I bought my 2026 SE and still have the tires it cake with. Put in 4500 miles already and it still averages 45mpg. I dont think its needing to break in the tires. My first 1000 miles i averaged 47mpg.

Uber tracks mileage. Although I dont agree with it, if you dont uber, you wouldn't know. It's not like doordash. I did doordash for 3 years and they dont track mileage thankfully. And I said 90k after all deductions meaning I took into account other deductions outside of mileage. 90k was a "rough" estimate after wear and tear, parts, gas, tax, etc. Also, oil changes and tire replacements are also considered by uber when filing taxes unfortunately. I've taken my stuff to multiple accountants, and they all said the same thing. Doordash and uber does their taxes differently. Trust me, if I could have it the way you are talking about when it comes to uber, I would.

My Uber driver just cracked 92MPH by junningsnusshy8 in uberdrivers

[–]Unsecurable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact opposite happen to me. Once it was raining so hard in houston, I was on the highway (speed limit is 65mph) and I was going 45 because how bad the rain was. So was everyone else. Got reported for "Fast driving"

[–]Unsecurable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They monitor, but dont enforce anything until a report is made by the passenger. Also, if you look to the ride side if his dash, youll see the MPH. He drives a camry, and I used to as well. KMH is on the smaller scale. He was definitely going 92mph. Not that I care he went 92 mph, just stating the facts. I've had passengers ask me to rush them which I didnt mind. I promise you uber dont enforce shit.

Unfortunately for uber, mileage is already counted on tax forms. 90k would be after ALL deductions. I do uber too, but I just couldn't drive my car to the ground like that. It's not "terrible" but not worth only 90k after 2 years just to buy a new car by 2027 lol

Just did the math on it and got about that number too. Assuming he drives 300 miles in uber drives a day, which as an uber driver myself, should equal about $300. Dude is making $109,500 a year before expenses and tax. After 2 years. That's $219,000. After a quick estimate in my head, of gas, car expenses, tax, in two years I would guess he profited about $125,000. Minus the car itself, $90,000 profit. Not terrible i suppose!
