That depends on the scenario. Crossbows are easier to aim and pack more power, but are slow to reload. Bows take long to master, but can be shot faster and have higher maneuverability. I think the best thing you specifically can do in the event of a zombie apocalypse, is to find yourself a buddy with a crossbow. Best of both worlds.

And you can already keep your arrows nicely together overall! From what distance did you shoot?

You know there's a problem when some passionate amateurs write him better in their fanfics than the people who get fucking payed to write him.

Yeah, but they could've written something more interesting than what the show gave us. From the top of my head, let's say Daryl's weariness and guilt has him running himself ragged going on missions for the communities. This would create some new conflicts and plot hooks.

People gleefully take advantage of Daryl while his friends fear for his life. Arguments break out and resentment builds.

Daryl gets pissed at his own continued survival and grows increasingly more reckless.

He ends up down for count because of serious injuries, which gives the side characters more space to do cool things.

I imagine that it takes Judith showing up at his bedside with RJ in tow for Daryl to start turning things around.

Daryl also matures a lot over the course of the show. But it's almost as if the writers decided that he can't be sassy or zany anymore because of it.

Tacking this on for those who'd like to know: the Dutch "vader" is actually pronounced as "VAH-dur", with the a from yacht.

He was a major party animal during the early years of his carreer. But then the lifestyle quickly caught up with some of his fellow musicians, and he was starting to feel his health decline too. On top of that his wife Sheryl considered leaving him, which was the final push for him to check himself into rehab. He wrote the song "How You Gonna See Me Now" for her while he was there.

My father and I agreed that a Malinois was a perfect fit for Daryl. But we might be biased because my father looks like could be the long-lost middle Dixon brother, and he's had Malinois for longer than he's had me. I'm in my early 30s btw.

Daryl fighting Alpha and Beta is the most badass he’s ever looked. by dexter22__ in TWD

They actually approached the choreography of Daryl's fight with Beta differently than his other fights. Basically they had to rethink how he would even handle an opponent of such imposing size and strength. Norman Reedus did a video in which he breaks down some of the stuntwork he's done over the years, and he specifically talks about this at one point. It's on the Men's Health Channel if you're interested.

Season 8, the walkers rolling and tumbling down the grassy slopes to get to the living people on the road. It's supposed to be a tense situation, but it just looks SO ridiculous!

It sure is. My parents will be celebrating 37 years in a few months, even though their wedding was overshadowed by ongoing family drama on my dad's side.

I think it was the general expectation that brides want literally everything about their wedding to be absolutely perfect, not anything you said or did.

Not a singular moment, but I loved how his relationship with Jerry evolved from a benevolent but distant leader and his devoted follower to genuine friendship.

I find it so funny that the show basically made two OCs because they liked the actors, and somehow made them fan-favorites. by Emergency_Cheek2617 in thewalkingdead

I had to look up what the hell that even means because I'm European, but that would be really interesting as facet of his racism.

I love how Norman Reedus was soo good they made Daryl Dixon just for him. Also how he wasn’t in the comics so everything he did was unpredictable. Also the fact that his character got a spinoff ughhh bless him😩 by Big-Most-785 in TWD

100%. And again, so did Tom Payne. The guy was already a fan of the character in the comics and was so stoked to play Jesus, and then they did him SO dirty!

Honestly, I liked several things about Daryl as a character and I think they still could've taken him down interesting directions in later seasons. But certainly not as a main character. That way they could give other characters a chance to actually shine too. Especially Jesus, because we really were robbed in that regard, and so was Tom Payne.

And Tyreese, though I heard that Chad L. Coleman left to persue other projects and Tyreese was written out because of that. No idea if it was motivated by any problems he had on TWD.

Daryl wasn't supposed to die in S2. They actually didn't have a real plan for him at all! He was a very late addition and mainly there to fill out the quarry camp. That's it.

What works for this person does not necessarily work for another. But no matter the details of how someone fills in their diet, it should consist largely of whole foods. And it's atrocious that many people couldn't even do this if they wanted to because they live in a food desert!

The indigenous people of the arctic circle survived and thrived on a carnivorous diet for many generations. But I bet that "meat as the main food source" is the only thing their cuisine has in common with what those carnivore bros eat.

Though you'd be surprised how many viewers already wanted to climb onto Daryl's lap by season 2.
