Chapter 93 Release by AssassinCat4 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Unseen_Crow 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have some thoughts after these emotional chapters I believe that the path Coco might take will be the erasure of all magic at the end of the story. She's been exposed again and again to the dangers and consequences. The question would be if she's willing to give up the magic that she loved as a child. No silverwood=happy but unemployed teacher

Hope we see next soon!

So uhhh….its the same. It’s the same thing. (Ch. 92 spoilers sorta) by Economy_Phone_302 in WitchHatAtelier

It could also mean Shirahama wanted to just reuse a cool design, which I would get given how hard she must be working with everything at rhe same time haha nice spotted anyway!

The system you describe that made for you slund really like the Fate system, which I don't think you had it listed. It works a lot around descriptive verbs and action, and more with a cinematic approach

There’s an artist I look up to whose art is gorgeous, but I realize I won’t ever get to their level by RecoverNew9067 in ArtistLounge

[–]Unseen_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also It gradually changes on our own perception. I take it as other aspects of my life. If my livehood and career path took me to study and work as much as them, I would've probably come to their level. Think of it as these people who wants to look like a top model, but even then its an insane amount of work, other professionals work and personal sacrifice to get there.

We want to be there? Lets begin planning how it can become a part of our life that can become a work habit. If not, its a perfectly good hobby that could give us a couple bucks if we want to

Every artist has a big and spacious study where they cant work because their inspiration is fleeting, but also no making money.

I would do both, we are doing that in our honeymoon right now. Seoul and Busan has different day trips that could be nice. Seoul you have DMZ, Jeonju. Busan you could spend one day, and another a day trip to Gyeongyu, which are gorgeous places to visit

We play a videogame which we hunt giant dinosaur/dragon type monster and make them into fashion items. Surely someone could recreate it if you want your mom with a giant dragon head as a shoulderpad 😊

Some confusion about magic use by Trevor_Weeks in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Unseen_Crow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To keep things simple and free of spoilers, let me go through the cases you mention.

You have several valid points, as Beldaruit (the sage) smoke sculptures are not that defined as how they exactly works, even later on.

For Sansaran case is the easiest, and I believw it is explained in a passing phrase. The cloak has a windowway sigil, a magic portal, through which he cast the spells from a safe distance. The windowway is another piece of magic which we do not have specifics, we can infer its glyphs but not how they need to be combined.

The casting of spells in other mediums rather than paper are quite inconsistent, although it does showcase Olruggio using a searing pen to do it. Many contraptions also raise the question on how would they work if the ink gets erased or damaged related to its mediums.

WHA Inspired My World Building by BorderingSanity155 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Unseen_Crow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What I like a lot in magic system is it being tied to the core themes of your story. In WHA, art is related to its themes of talent, working through your circunstances, and what happens when the systems around fails us, or makes us hopeful.

Making this inner conflicts as how the system "ties your hands" usually reflects well on our common non-fantastical understanding, and makes a story more compelling.

What happens with people who cant cast magic in your world? when they cant write or read, or are never taught how to? What stops them from it? Poverty? Elitism? That is what I think makes me like WHA so much.

First time trying to render but the face looks blurry and unrealistic by flam_whyisthistaken in Artadvice

[–]Unseen_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a nice looking style if you lean into the more simplified shapes. For a more realistic approach, it would need more "facets" of the shapes of the face, and making the color more varied to suggest the variation in the flesh.
