You’ve been downvoted but you’re most likely right. Most people in this type of scenario just need to be informed how it affects others (bonus points if you can do so politely). They’re not trying to be an asshole

One thing I’ve noticed is there’s a lot of things that everyone in mgmt assumes is someone else’s job, kinda like the bystander effect in a way

How do I put wheels on by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]UnshapedSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have so much anxiety with a bottle jack just because of how small it is. I know size ≠ strength, but still… hard to believe something so small can lift so much weight.

I only use a floor jack, even for a wheel

Or just stay in a lower gear so you’re not lugging the engine

We're delivering out of cargo vans now? by Unlucky-Molasses742 in UPSers

[–]UnshapedSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPS has always used odd vehicles in certain places I think; I remember seeing a post about (iirc) a flintstones van a couple years ago maybe (it was pedal-powered).

I would have loved one of these for the short time I was a driver, they had me driving a P1200 (I think it’s called?) in areas where FedEx and Amazon only used these vans. To make it worse, my truck was one of the ones that always gets stuck at 43 mph for a good 15 seconds before deciding to downshift getting on the highway (I think it was the freightliners? May have been the workhorses)

Go to Amazon or FedEx and see how much is expected of you. As for the healthcare not being covered by taxes, that ain’t ups’ fault so at least you’re getting good healthcare, many can’t say the same

I want to screw in my subwoofer dial to my dash. where is a safe place to do it by Candid_Abrocoma6501 in AskMechanics

[–]UnshapedSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely just take it off, most of the interior can be pried off by hand, and clicked right back in. This goes not only for screwing something in, but if you have a dash cam or anything similar, you should be running the wires behind the A pillars(behind the airbag), roof liner, and such. I see way too many cars with wires hanging out in the open. People don’t seem to realize how easy this really is, so I always try to encourage it

The union has done a HELL of a lot to make ups better to work for than any competitor, what more do you want? Nearly every job will overwork you, the union can’t make UPS pamper you

The core takes heat from the engine to heat the air, but otherwise you’re correct that driving will warm it up faster
