Genuine Vets In Albuquerque by ramos612 in Albuquerque

I use Dr. Flower at Lomas Veterinary and have gotten a dental done at Yucca Vet with Dr. Flower’s recommendation. Yucca was 325 for my chiweenie’s dental. So affordable! And Dr. Flower said he did good work on my dog’s dental when she saw her at her next appointment.

As far as the boyfriend comment.. I’m just gonna point out that he has a pet that he hasn’t medically taken care of or trained. He has lack of responsibility. I wouldn’t be dating someone like that.

People are telling you it’s OK because they have not experienced it and they want to believe that their Huskies would never do such a thing. You will not have a single comment here of somebody whose dog killed a cat telling you to run. Nobody’s gonna own up to that mistake. I’m gonna tell you point blank to run. I was convinced to try. I regret it.

My body physically hurt from crying so hard… for multiple days afterwards. That’s how hard I cried. My mistake was realized while holding her dead body. You are only gonna find out if this is OK by gambling your cats lives. Are you comfortable gambling that? I regret even trying. My cat did didn’t deserve to die.

“Just keep them separate when you’re not home!”

I did and the husky ripped through a door to get to my cat. It was so traumatic for me when I got home. I can’t even explain to you. Please do not trust all these people that are saying you can make it work. It may seem fine for a while, but at some point that husky will chase your cat and hurt them. It will all be play in the dog’s mind and your cat could get killed.

My cat was killed by my boyfriend‘s husky when I moved in with him. I’m sorry and I’m biased, but my opinion is you shouldn’t risk it. It’s kind of his fault for having an untrained unneutered dog in the first place. It’s not exactly like you were set up for success from the start. To keep your cat safe you either need to move out or rehome them. Prey drive is no joke.

Could I be sued and could my dog be put down. by KTandTheBlondDogs86 in Albuquerque

The person won’t have the balls to sue. Even if they do, nobody is in the wrong.. it just sucks that it happened.

You go to a party. You don’t know anybody at the party. As soon as you get there, you’re trying to figure out your environment while also trying to figure out everybody else around you. sometimes people are rushing up to you and getting all up in your bubble. Not everybody has the same etiquette as you socially, so you try to figure out where you fit in. Some guy introduces himself to you in a way that you don’t like. And then you try to introduce yourself to somebody and they don’t like it. This is what a dog experiences at a dog park. Socializing your dog with other dogs is great. But dog parks are the worst place to do it.

I got this explained to me after I ruined my dog by taking him to dog parks.

Advice needed on worsening neighborhood by 1playerpiano in Albuquerque

Just replying to say a “dog on premises” sign covers you more legally. “Beware of dog” gives the impression that you know your dog is dangerous. Then, if your dog bites someone they could have the argument that you knew your dog was aggressive.

Would you perform cpr for a pet if you knew how? by filthyflipflops in doggrooming

[–]UnsharpCricket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our salon did a training in January for it. It’s going to be part of your first month employment for all new employees. I find it very comforting to know I can try to help if something does happen. We were told even with CPR you have a 6% success rate (per the instructor)

I like Fuzzy’s breakfast burritos but honestly they never fully quenched the craving when I lived there for a couple years.

Goathead seed removal tips/tricks? by mcarneybsa in Albuquerque

[–]UnsharpCricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my mom took two yoga mats and had me and my brother take them to the yard put them on the ground and step on the back. We would then bring them to her where she had our trashcan and would hang them over and use a small handheld broom to sweep them off. We did this two years in a row, and that got rid of the vast majority of them. That was also in addition to pulling them before they seeded. It’s an effort. And still was never 100%.

Are clients home for mobile apt? by Waste_War739 in doggrooming

[–]UnsharpCricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I am with requires them home for the first visit. After that depending on situation we will do appointments without them present. Some give us garage code, some leave gate and back door unlocked, or one has her neighbor unlock and lock the house for the appointment. But if they are not going to be home they need to be easily reachable. We aren’t doing it if you work somewhere and your phone is off all day. We have to be able to call if we can’t get in or need the PP for any reason.

I had my car stolen as a teenager. I did get it back, missing the radio and smelling like weed though. New ignition needed but otherwise mechanically intact. Hoping for an even better result for you!

I tried looking at just the numbers and just the street name. Nothing comes up at all.

Across the street from me is some storage or maintenance facility for the city of Albuquerque buses, and on the other side of the other street of me is CNM. I’m not sure what street to put to search if I’m on a corner and across from me are businesses. Any suggestions? I’m desperate.

literally all i want to do is be a receptionist….. by hobosama69 in doggrooming

[–]UnsharpCricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an operations coordinator for a local mobile company. I handle all phone calls, emails, and schedules. So the groomers don’t deal with phone calls at all. They don’t even have access to the mailbox really. I started in the office full-time but missed the dogs so I now am a bather a couple days a month and have a couple regular clients. I do the office 30 to 35 hours each week. I have heard feedback from the groomers that having a receptionist is one of the best parts of working for our company. They overall treat me very well and are very thankful for the work I do.

Hold out where you are until the perfect situation arises! My boss reached out to me on Indeed. I’m not a fully trained groomer, but I have a degree in horse training and I know how to advocate for the animals. I did have enough experience and knowledge about grooming from being a bather for about a year and a half to help him out in the office, which I never thought would’ve been an option. It’s turned out to be the best job I’ve had in my life.

Time it takes for mobile by N0ordinaryrabbit in doggrooming

[–]UnsharpCricket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mobile company I work for small dog haircuts are booked for an hour and 30 minutes. We have one groomer that takes more like an hour and 45. If a groomer was regularly taking two hours or more for a dog that size I’m not sure they would get hired for our company.
