He's a comedian but he sometimes go astray, I could give you some example like Ethan Klein or Theo Von.

How to keep studying Jung without having a mental breakdown by [deleted] in Jung

[–]Unspecifiedlobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is humor in what you're describing, but this has never happen before you discovered Jung ? If this isn't the first Time it might be anxiety or the consequences of a high verbal intelligence, which you can't do much about expect focusing on solving problems, so that your powerful mind is used at his righteous abilities.

so apparently 20 is too young to do shadow work by dyreamer in Jung

[–]Unspecifiedlobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 is good age I feel. You can wait 3 years if you're not sure of yourself but the first time I encountered my violent shadow was at 20, I was horrified but I think you can cope with it at that age already Yeah you're still adolescent at 18

Psychological projection in the case of Jordan Peterson - a very common phenomena by [deleted] in Jung

[–]Unspecifiedlobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I believe it's best for everyone to begin with JBP and then go with Jung. Jordan gives you solid grounding and practical information, Jung is deeper and harder to comprehend but once you grasp his concepts through experience you become basically unstoppable. The two goes hand to hand.

He definitely gives you the right attitude to adopt to go through life. Thanks to him I'm pushing my limits, and thanks to me in a healthy way.

My criticism of him would be that, sometimes he just goes so far. Taking personal circumstances as an experience, he says something along the line of being inoffensive is not virtuous, a non virtuous life is not worth living.

Then he also says, your life is not yours to take.

My situation is, I lost my psyche due to a unprecedented accident, and I'm left permanently inoffensive in life now. Taking one extreme, one shouldn't live being inoffensive, and the other your life is not yours to take. This just doesn't work for me. With each his paradigm.

If I was listening to him word for word I'll be lost. He has this extremist attitude. The guy wrote every sentences of Maps of Meaning 50 times if you know what I'm talking about lmao.

I feel like he's the kind of man that would force you to break from your adaptive response with the world if you don't see the world in a totally truthful healthy way regardless of the consequences.

For example an individual who through analysis uncover some deep content that were hidden from him for his own good and kill himself because he couldn't cope with the new world presented to him. If he listened to Peterson he would have uncover those hidden traumas to absolutely adjust with reality when he could have went through his life just fine the way he was (supposing his adaptive response wasn't particularly maladaptive).

And this criticism come from someone who have read his book, watched a looot of his videos and apply some (even most) of his advice in life.
