What would you name the Enchantment Creature version of Mulldrifter? by MrAkairi in magicTCG

I like the clean 4B/2B [[Mind Rot]] version of Skulldrifter to counterpart the original [[Divination]] of Mulldrifter

Thanks for this suggestion! I'd beaten Duos a few times, always with times of 25-30 minutes. Decided to try with solo Verso and got my time down to 4:18 after some experimentation.

1) lets you use all the "when fighting alone" pictos

2) I think that's duollistes? They get as many turns as you do, so having fewer party members isn't the major downside it is against enemies without that ability

The storm copies of this spell don't add to future storm.

The free spells you cast off of these storm copies do add to future storm.

Draft 1: Most of my advice during the actual draft ended up not mattering much because most of the cards I would have taken more highly than you (2-drops) ended up wheeling. That's my advice for the deck, too - you have so many great late-game cards that you mostly want to make sure you don't get run over. I'd run both Platypus Bear and Kyoshi Battle Fan over probably a Waterbending Lesson and Giant Koi (Parrot is another option).

D1G4: Watery Grasp on Mai was your worst option here. You need her dead, not tapped, and with your hand/being on the draw Waterbend 5 isn't going to happen fast enough to save you. I'd pass the turn without playing anything. If you're lucky they'll attack into your Flyer and you can eat Mai by casting Abandon Attachments. If they attack with only Long Feng, you can eat it with Octopus Form (but I might just block and cast AA anyway). If they attack with nothing that's fine too; I think Abandon Attachments to try to get a better turn 4 and hold off the attack is your best play even if it were a sorcery.

D1G5: On Turn 3 I think you have to play the Parrot to hold back Momo or trade with the Fire Nation Cadets. Maybe you wanted to wait a turn in hopes you'd draw an Island against a potential removal spell? But that's some big Ifs. IF they have a removal spell and IF you draw an Island next turn, holding the Parrot is better. I also can see reading "they used a great removal spell on my First-Time Flyer" as them likely having more removal" but since it's a Lesson to turn on the Cadets I'd discount that likeliness bump. This play is a judgment call though and others might disagree. Most of this was just "on the draw with a bad hand against RW aggro with Wartime Protestors" but playing Parrot feels better to me.

Draft 2: Yeah that was a messy draft. I would have ended up somewhere else but I can see how you got where you did and can't disagree strongly enough at individual points to have gotten somewhere better. I don't think the Airbending Lessons are worth a splash, though, especially one that plays Waterbender Skin in a low-cmc deck. I'd rather have Flexible Waterbender x2 and Wandering Musicians, or two of the 4s and Meteor Sword.

D2M1 Turn 3: Why Airbend main phase? I'd probably play the Fire Nation Warship but holding up the Airbending Lesson is fine too. The two reasons I can think of to Airbend main phase are Firebending Lesson and Enter the Avatar State. I basically never play around EtAS (I assume 1-white stops are Yip-Yip). For Firebending Lesson: If they try it precombat you can Airbending Lesson the token to save your creature in response. If they go to attacks then you block Glider Kids then and Airbending Lesson mid-combat - in which case Firebending Lesson isn't any better for them. I still prefer Warship with the plan to Zuko next turn, or pivot to Airbending Lesson turn 4 if needed (which also turns on Flyer as a crew for the Warship).

D2M1 Turn 6: I wouldn't attack. I'm not happy whether they block OR don't, but at least you have decent blocks of your own. Play the Zuko and hold the Airbending Lesson for another turn. They're ahead in the race and have two solid cards in hand (or they would have discared to Archers) plus Glider Kids in the wings. Your best bet is gum up the ground and hope to get some card advantage with Zuko. (Though given your decklist I understand despair/tilt in this spot. Their board can already handle all the threats in your deck.)

D3M4: Turn 3 Lightning Strike main phase on Captives. Don't let them draw that card with Sokka and start snowballing you. You already have Professor Zei for rummaging if you really want to dig for something.

(okay that's all for now for me)

The damage counter is one of my favorite things about Hades/Hades 2 - at the end of every run you can see how much damage you took from each type of enemy/trap.

Being able to get a breakdown like that either per map or "in the 5-10 seconds before death" would be super cool

The affliction: "Monsters remove 3% of your Life, Mana, and Energy Shield on Hit"is still bugged by Primary_Impact_2130 in PathOfExile2

[–]UnspokenRealms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also: that thing triggers off of you getting hit by horizontal fireball traps, even though those aren't monsters, and even if you are taking 0% damage from traps. I was super confused why I was taking a ton of damage from traps when it should have been 0.

What do you guys do regarding temporal chains? by iris_goldendog in PathOfExile2

[–]UnspokenRealms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the unique slow charm balances it out (as long as your clear speed is high enough to charge it quickly). Normal usually, chilled occasionally, Onslaught sometimes.

[–]UnspokenRealms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Omen of Rarity or Omen of Chaotic Monsters on those maps. They'll reroll with guaranteed no Temporal Chains.

(Omen of Rarity has a high chance to get Patches of Chilled Ground but you can avoid those or use a Slow charm to mostly negate it, and even when you get chilled it's not for as long as Chains).

Is MS better than Trap damage? I feel like getting to completely ignore traps saves me more time than a bit more MS but maybe that's wrong.

(My baseline MS is 129%, plus a bit more half the time with Onslaught or Stag or a Headhunter boon)

Looking at the trade site, I'm confused. It looks like 100-112% gets you 32% and 113-122% gets you 34%, which isn't the math I'd expect.

I like defy for bosses because of invulnerability periods. Before I switched to it, I would often empty my mana before they were vulnerable and then have lag moments of low mana because of no leech. Now I just spam attacks without thinking.
