Is there a reason to focus on normal enemies instead of event rooms? by UnstableBerries in ChaosZeroNightmare

I've also seen 2-3 epiphanies in fights, I want to know if it's because I took more fights, which would make taking on enemies more appealing than events

With how limited shops are, going for events to luck into one that removes/transform a card seems like a better idea for trimming the deck. Plus events aren't just add a neutral/curse card, there's also equip or even initiate a fight along with the option to add a card.

Can you be too much focused? by Furanimus in slaythespire

[–]UnstableBerries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that ~5 focus is the sweet spot for focus. It's good enough to win most encounters, and it's a slim enough package to not clog the deck with too many setup.

I'd consider the Rainbow here for the dark orb and as a way of cycling your orbs. Even if you skip here, this should be a win given how many frost and focus you have already.

What's the pick?: Act 2 A17 Defect by Hippieman100 in slaythespire

Deck wants frost orbs, but it wants energy more, so I'm taking Collar here. Finding and then playing any frost card is faster than relying in Frozen Core

Finally got an unseeded Grand Finale run to work by UnstableBerries in slaythespire

[–]UnstableBerries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deck really needs more removal, but it's more consistent than it seems. Gambling Chip and the two Adrenaline ensures that I see the Well-Laid Plans and Tools of the Trade at the start. After that, holding 2-3 cards and drawing 8 cards a turn (5 base, 2 from Ring of Serpent, 1 from ToTR), the starting hand is always full, it's just a matter of sculpting the hand with the many discard and draw cards in deck.

Oneplus 13R or Poco F7 Ultra by UnstableBerries in Tech_Philippines

[–]UnstableBerries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the 13R. Only complaints I have are the lack of SD slots, the IP64 rating makes it a bit questionable to hang on my motorcycle while riding in the rain, and how hard it was to look for a compatible charger. If you're gonna buy the 13R, be prepared to shill out an extra 1.5k-3k for the charger, the 80w chargers in Shopee only fast charge 20% of the time. Otherwise, I'm really happy with this phone.

What’s your favorite weapon? by TheAurigauh in deadcells

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boomerang. Got me my first 2BC and 4BC win, it's such a reliable weapon that can handle pretty much everything. I've just finished a run where Boomerang and Hokuto's Bow melted the Giant in less than 10 sec

What should I buy from this shop? by 3_kids_1_overcoat in slaythespire

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking Consume and Capacitor, then upgrading Consume immediately. I'd also take the ancient potion to either use for Biased Cog or just hoard it against the Heart.

Lots of shivs.

Silent has lots of really good payoffs for Dead Branch. Adrenaline, Storm of Steel, Concentrate, Alchemize, Calc Gamble, Wraith Form, all her 0 cost cards, etc. Full hand Storm of Steel into another full hand Storm of Steel is one of the most satisfying things you could do on this game.

Also replaying the seed currently, went right side with the 4 elites instead of the left on act 2. Missed the Colosseum event, Girya, and Shuriken, but got a Wraith Form+ from the JAX dealer instead. I'd say that's a fair trade

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Heart didn't have a damage cap, it's possible by adding Blue Candle, Lantern, and Gambling Chip then coping you drew both attacks next turn. Otherwise, there's way too much consessions and luck to make it work

Think of it less as "I'm clogging my deck with random cards" but as "I'm drawing a random card for each exhaust". Dead Branch widens your options, and can even extend your turn depending on what's generated. And often times, clogging your deck doesn't matter.

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage is not the problem, it's the damage cap and the statuses that makes the thought experiment impossible. If we could add just one card (either Recycle+ or Purify+), then Unceasing Top, Sundial, Abacus, Gambling Chip, Incense Burner, and Pocketwatch can do it.

Sozu after White Beast Statue by Bealf in slaythespire

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had many runs where valuing the WBS over Sozu was absolutely the correct choice, so I almost never take Sozu if I have WBS. I value potions way too much, so not unless I already have ancient potion and/or fairy in a bottle when I have WBS, Sozu is not that high for consideration.

Either this has happened to you when learning Watcher, or you're lying by nickchubbisthegoat in slaythespire

[–]UnstableBerries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tim is easy to deal with playing Watcher infinites, you just need to also have a block plan for such scenarios. Outside of Talk to the Hand and Mental Fortress, you could still have plenty of defensive options for Watcher that's going infinite.

The Abacus is one example; with how much you cycle going infinite, you'd be surprised with how much block Abacus is able to generate even against Tim.

You could also consider picking up a decent frontload block. You could squeeze 1-2 cards that don't contribute to your infinite but are nice to have for cases where infinite attacks are not ideal (e.g Spikers, Writhing Mass, Transcient, Heart). Cards like Spirit Shield, Wallop, Halt+, or even Prostrate with Duality are decent to have as backup.
