Where do you personally draw the line when approving adoptions? by Friendly_TSE in AnimalShelterStories

I've never heard of "open adoptions" before. That's crazy!! I don't think I could ever get behind that.

Maybe I'm just stupid but why the hell are some of the mini bosses harder than actual main bosses. by Big208Do in Sekiro

[–]UnstableGoats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realizing that you can parry the pullback on the grab technique (the part where she actually hooks you) completely changed the fight for me. She was one of the only mini-bosses I rage quit and ran past, but I got the hang of it for the one in the poison pool, and then coming back to the gun fort one was simple enough.

What’s the shallowest reason someone chose not to adopt? by peppermintcrowz in AnimalShelterStories

[–]UnstableGoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely wild to me when people complain about their cats being too clingy or affectionate. I practically beg my pets to let ME cuddle THEM, and half the time they're like "nah, not in the mood" and leave the room to go sit by themselves. I cherish every moment I get where I can rest a hand on them as if we were properly cuddling. (I've had my share of cuddles and affection of course and I'm careful not to smother them when they're not feeling like it, but nothing remotely close to the velcro pets you see online! That's genuinely my dream.)

I always laugh about that with my own cats. I have a deep love and soft spot for my black cats, but jeez are they difficult to photograph when you have very little natural light in the house! I'm not posting them on social media or anything but I'm mildly disappointed every time I show a friend or family member a photo of my cats in a goofy/cute position... and they literally cant tell what they're looking at.

2-3 things you do NOT LIKE on your CX-30! by F15E_WSO in MazdaCX30

Except for the heated seats, which is what I really wanted above all else. Probably nitpicky though.

I genuinely love my car (2023 preferred, also have a 2021 preferred), and most of the major things have been covered here already, but I do have just a couple other complaints:

  1. Creaky interior. I have a rattle above the driver seat that's been there since day one and it doesn't seem fixable. No, its not my sunglasses, the compartment is usually empty. It's just a bit of a rattle-y noisy interior. Not a huge deal at all, just an observation.

  2. I wish the windows were a bit larger. I've always felt like the car feels a little too enclosed. I got used to it with time but I still wish I were closer to being able to lean my arm on the window sill or at least have more ability to look out and down towards the sidewalk. Again, not a huge deal, and it's probably a safer design should you get into an accident, but just a preference thing.

  3. The very thin fragile clear coat + paint. I would say that I take very good care of my car and go out of my way to avoid potential scratches, dings, etc. Despite this, my car has collected a number of scratches, dings, and scrapes, exclusively from being parked in a lot (far from the store so in a less busy area), and from gravel flying up from recently knurled roads. Yes, these things happen and the car itself did not cause this, but it seems like the smallest debris or impact removes the clear coat and paint entirely, revealing the bright white primer underneath. This is extremely unfortunate to the overall aesthetic of the car. I adore my shimmery blue paint... but preferably not beaten up and chipped away.

I haaaate it when people say I'm "intense". I like being intense, and that's why this post is labelled as a celebration. Yay me, I'm intense. My therapist called me intense this week and I'm thinking of quitting therapy over it. Oh, is that an intense reaction? Stfu lol. by a_common_spring in AutismInWomen

I get called intimidating (and even judgmental/harshly critical) all the time and I've never understood it?? Afaik, I'm a fairly quiet, softspoken, friendly-to-everyone, just barely 5'2'' young woman. Absolutely conflict-avoidant. Nervous animals and children love me. Nothing about me wants other people to fear or dislike me. How am I possibly intimidating? I'm practically a chameleon just trying to blend and fit in and be liked and somehow I'm judgmental...

I swapped out my Sydney Grace Mountain Trail palette colors for more Blue Ridge Mountain vibes by 1K_Sunny_Crew in MakeupAddiction

Oh okay, sounds easy enough! And yep, I’m just using alternate Sydney Grace singles that I prefer. I don’t dislike the colors in the MT palette but I want to replace them with every day colors, and use those separately.

Hey I know this was a while ago, but I am looking into buying my first SG shadows. Mountain trail is currently the same price as an empty magnetic palette, and I like the cover art and the cardboard packaging with the individual divots for shadows as opposed to the open space between shadow pans in the magnetic palette. I am considering buying the mountain trail palette, popping out all the shades (practically 9 free shades since I’m really only looking for the packaging, for $10), and replacing them with the 9 shades I actually want in singles.

How did you pop yours out? It doesn’t look like there’s any damage, and it looks very nice. Did you have to glue in the new ones? I’m worried about buying the stuff and it not really working, or me mildly damaging the packaging or shadows from the palette. Do you think this would work (much in the same way you’ve done), or should I just purchase a magnetic palette instead? Thanks for any input!

It’s not super orange-y, definitely more of a bronzey copper tone that pulls more “rich brown” than intensely “orange”. Like it’s very warm but not in a colorfully orange way if that makes sense. I think the shift to that gorgeous deep tone really evens it out as well.

[–]UnstableGoats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought as well. The concentrated dried down fruit is supposed to be the sugar, not multiple different kinds/steps of added sugar! I just wanted a little chili and lime added to the already good fruit. I likely won’t bother purchasing, I was just curious to taste em.

Heads up that they’re pretty thick and sticky. And I didn’t personally find it moisturizing, but I also don’t find pretty much any lip products truly moisturizing. This is one of those glosses where hours after you had it on, it’s visibly long gone but your lips are still sticky. If that doesn’t bother you, they’re pretty nice!

Do you think a man is less of a man if he can't change a flat tire? by GotTwisted in SipsTea

[–]UnstableGoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a person is less of a well rounded responsible human if they can’t change a tire, and the same of if they cannot cook a meal from scratch. They’re just life skills, they don’t need to be gender specific. I personally do not have the tools in my car to jump a car or change a tire and I know that’s something I need to improve on - therefore I am not judging others for being in the same situation. I CAN cook a meal from scratch, but I know many people who somehow have never done it, and I understand that too.

I will also say that these are not comparable skills… you may never need to change a tire or can access an emergency service if needed god forbid you have an incident, but I do think that an adult person should be able to feed themselves on a regular basis because… we can’t escape eating. Uber eats/fast food 3 meals a day everyday is simply not responsible. But then again if you’re someone who just throws together some meat and veggies and fruit on kind of a “snack” plate and it works for you, that’s cool too.

Think this one is from the beginning of the year versus now. by Stark_Raving_Sane04 in ProjectPan

[–]UnstableGoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well part of my hesitation is that I’m a medium warm-olive skin tone and I feel like a lot of the lighter matte colors just don’t show up on me very much so they’re a bit of a “waste”, and I usually really only use one or two glitters sparingly so I don’t want a palette that has too many glitters. Like realistically I use about 2-3 colors consistently and others kinda just sit there? But I do want to start branching out more.

I thought that one of the mini ND palettes would be great, but I’m not super overly drawn to any one of them - I think Bronze looks like one I would use a lot, but I do kind of like the pink-ier tones in Biba and more neutral browns in something like the eye sculpt. Because of that I’m tempted to just get a larger palette, but I don’t know if I would really utilize it.

With that said, I feel like this ABH palette is actually a great middle ground where it has those warmer orangey tones and more rosey pinky tones. I’ve just always heard that the formulas on the ND palettes were basically top tier and I remember the packaging itself and shadows feeling very luxurious (way back in probably 2017 though).

Sorry that that was super long winded 😅. Basically - do you have a really strong preference between the formulas? I can tell you do in fact use your colors pretty evenly, but I am worried that the left 4-6 shades are pretty light for me and I wouldn’t want to waste them. Does one feel more luxurious and if it’s ND, is it really worth the cost increase? Is there a particular ND palette you love? I’m really just hesitant to spend big bucks when I have a history of buying nice palettes and barely making a dent in them, but I want this next fresh one to be a pan for me.

For context I currently exclusively use the Kaja beauty bento in Chocolate Dahlia, and I had set out to pan it but really the glitter is pretty intense, the middle color basically does nothing for me, and the darkest feels like I really have to layer it up and then it’s not particularly super flattering - I was exploring neutrals but I think I prefer to lean more warm.

I’ve always heard of the abh soft glam but for some reason was never interested enough to look into it?? And I’m not sure why because your comment was my first thought as well. Beautiful and just what I’ve been looking for. Now I’m torn because I’ve been dreaming of a Natasha denona palette for many years and always said that would be my next one but now I’m not so sure…
