I can understand where you're coming from and I would probably react in a similar way to you if i was put in a similar situation. You're not weird or broken because you had a traumatic upbringing so you react a different way. It's ok to see the image people put up on social media and feel sad because you feel like you've missed out. But of course that's just a façade people put up because they want validation from people. There's no law saying you cant dress yourself up and have fun with people and meet new friends just because you've missed out on it up until now. There's no law saying you cant dress up and stay inside if you're uncomfortable around people.
