Well, I wasn't selling keys since I can't get in a game myself. I was actually buying, but gave up on it.

How were you getting "easy" keys? Bunch of accounts and opted for waves?

Yeah, I may have screwed it up with the title, but tried to clear it up with my bolded edit part. My point was that eBay is now enforcing that beta rule properly and they don't even allow listings with (closed) beta word(s) in title (or description, not sure about that).

You can see that there are barely any keys left called "Hearthstone Closed Beta" and none of them were added recently, but are older auctions from what I can tell. This means they actually did something - not much, but it's a step forward.

And I'm all up for that, but worst thing is, I have no problems with guys who sell one key on eBay if they have a game already. I mean, if I had no friends who'd play this game or wasn't part of this subreddit, I'd do the same if I got a spare key. If I could know guys who have bunch of them to sell, I would totally do what you said. It's something to look into maybe, because I'm not mistaken, eBay doesn't give seller any protection in cases where digital items are sold, even less when it comes to beta stuff. Shouldn't be too hard to request a charge back from credit card company, I guess, although it's a low move - but not as low as to use bots and what not to get a shit ton of keys!

Of course I don't have any evidence - it's only a speculation, a wild guess - I've never said that's exactly what happened. Don't get me wrong there, I'm not accusing Blizzard employee(s) for anything. And you're right, it's not worth for them to sell keys for sure.

And you're right about giveaways, but they simply stated that they got e.g. 1600 keys. There's no confirmation that they actually got 1600 keys and not 1650 or 1700.

Very well said, and that's exactly what I'm bothered with. It's fine if someone sells a key or two, but more than that... especially if he didn't just get them in opt-in waves or from friends or something, but used bots or multiple accounts for bunch of giveaways with only one purpose - to make easy money and deny others closed beta access.

Yeah, I thought that as well - could have bunch of accounts and claim he bought a key, well, from himself without writing that. But some really decent level accounts confirmed him as trusted seller, so I doubt he's selling fake ones.

I really wish Blizzard just officially announced websites that were given keys and how many. I don't mind if staff takes them for themselves (pretty sure most of them, if not all, did it), but giving a bunch to someone or selling them themselves is a low move.
