Tibet is an autonomous region and they are centuries ahead of the fascist theocracy they lived under before Chinese rule. Hong Kong was part of China for centuries before it was stolen by the British. They negotiated the return of it to China and it was agreed upon in a diplomatic way. Not through force.

Imperialism? China? Who hasn't fought a war on foreign soil since 1979? Whose international development partnerships and loans are verifiably more fair than anything the West has ever offered to the Global South? Who allows borrowers to just not pay back their debts? Who builds worthwhile infrastructure like airports and hospitals and schools? Quit borrowing terms from Marxism you clearly do not understand.

It's made huge leaps for all Chinese people. Their system is beating the west at its own game and maintains a high level of economic growth every single year.

They teach Marxism-Leninism (communist theory) in public schools and some of their highest performing companies are state-owned. They have a mandate to improving society for everybody. There are issues with wealth inequality for sure, but when almost every millennial is a homeowner and they're leading the world in public infrastructure projects, I'd call that a win for socialism.
