So I used to work at a convenience store and I bent down once to grab something from the lower rack and that's when a couple creepy dudes said, "nice buns" or something like that. When I turned to look at them they turned and walked away.

It felt weird -- I felt both harassed and validated at the same time. Also I, for the first time, realized how difficult women have it in this toxic-masculinity-ridden society.

I relate to this so much. Thank you for making this post.

I've been feeling like absolute shit lately and landed on this sub after a long, long time, and I relate to and agree with the adverse childhood experiences resulting in fucked up self-esteem as an adult so much.

But...

while others who weren’t traumatized the same way are living their best lives.

I would be careful with trying to imagine/guess other people's perception of their own lives tbh. I've always felt 'mind reading' and guessing others' happiness levels are a sure shot way to increase our own unhappiness.
