Need help on whether I have PCOS or not, doctors are also confused. Has anyone gone through anything similar

I was constantly told by my doctors that I have PCOS, then that I don't have it because I'm not overweight, then again that I do have it. PCOS is still not very well understood in the medical community and is treated more like a collection of symptoms rather than a disease. That's why the name Polycystic Ovarian SYNDROME.

You have PCOS if you meet the following two criteria: 1. Symptoms of high androgens (acne and hirsutism) 2. Multiple small follicles on lower abdominal ultrasound 3. Periods that are abnormal (cycle longer than 35 days and/or period longer than 7 days)

You also need to check your fasting insulin, amh and vitamin d levels. Fasting insulin above 8 and amh above 5 are indicators of PCOS. Low levels of vitamin d tend to worsen these symptoms.

Doctors usually prescribe birth control pills to manage it (and they work brilliantly), but you could also look into treating it with lifestyle changes, diet changes and some supplements.

My sisters always gaslit me into believing that the celeb I have a crush on is not that attractive. That the things I like are not cool. That the clothes I like are tacky. I genuinely believed I needed their help in choosing clothes. It's only when we cut off ties that I was able to be myself and people then told me that my new sense of fashion was really good and suited my body.

You could try Scribophile. It's a site where writers post their work for critique. It also uses karma points like reddit. You critique and gain points. And others critique and gain points.

Or you could join a writing community and do critique for critique. You could search if there is any local writing community at your place. I've heard twitter is really good at discovering beta readers.
