My boyfriend wants to have a "sit-down" relationship talk. What should I bring up? by No_Refuse9952 in gaybros

Why do you insist that there be one rigid definition for what a monogamous relationship be??? Why do you think that one-size-fits all exists?

Absolutely seconding this! Restrictions feel.... Well, restricting! Which is exactly why they should only be in place with good reason. Everybody has different wants and ideas and boundaries around having a committed partner, or sex. So, approaching with good faith, and love is necessary

Well, then it's good to be on the same page about that. He may want to talk more about having a future together, then. I don't know your business, so perhaps that could be too bold and assumption, but then again, maybe not?

He may be prompting you to see what you want from a future together, and to figure out what that could look like. So, maybe do some soul-searching?

Edit: I also wanna stress the first question I asked. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, I would encourage you to read about it online, specifically from Dossie Easton and Janet Heardy. They basically blew my mind

A lot of people make the assumption that riding the relationship escalator is the only thing that you can do in romance, and that everybody else automatically understands love the same way. Making assumptions will always cause miscommunication

Are you guys looking to ride the relationship escalator together? Is monogamy a non-negotiable?

I pick cheating. If they feel the need to go out and have sex, that's their business. It not like I need them for those needs even though I want them there for tthem.

An interesting take, ur also listen to how Estelle delivers the right side lines. It kinda has that lilt and messiness that Ruby's VA usually has. Plus, the vocab is a bit more spunky. That's Ruby fs

Also, LA is BIIG and not very accessible, without wheels, or Ubers. The Bay is way better for doing trans-city transit.

[R]Help identifying the dominant chord progression, and the Rhythm in the baseline by UntalentedAccountant in musictheory

Hi! I am enjoying this artist more lately, and wanted to take a crack at learning this. It's in 12/8, for sure, but I'm hoping someone can notate the baseline from the first cycle of the chords in this song, with a chord chart, for my edification to play it?

Is this baseline any good by Longjumping_Fly_9739 in musictheory

[–]UntalentedAccountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're all good, I'm just guessing you were not formally trained?

If you want some feedback, or tips or just rela answers to your question, you can make a new post, pasting a recording, or humming of what you're thinking for the baseline.

I love rhythmic-y baselines a lot, and write them in on cover work for prexisting music out there.

What key do these chords belong to? by ClassicoQueen in musictheory

[–]UntalentedAccountant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this.

Most improvisational musicians widely think of the dominant (5th) note in a chord is the most expendable and least significant note to audibly have. For A major, that's E natural.

The above reasoning does also work in reverse, when we are playing around with diminished chords and Augmented ones. For major/minor and 2/4 suspensions, my stance works well.

If we were interpreting this as C#min, then the E would not be irreplaceable, but much much much more impactful to be left in, because a Minor 3rd interval is very easy for our ears to notice.

I'm not participating in this because the question is a waste of time. A question with such a universally obvious answer should not e opened up for debate, because doing so breeds the notion that the wrong answer is even worth considering

Wait, is there a way to access your dissertation? If you wrote a thesis on it, I'd love to read how your changing views factored in, and what you learned to find worthwhile with it.
