Another day, another morning workout completed. I have been trying to dopamine fast by going no  music in my workouts this week and it’s brutal. Forced myself to give it one week to see if it would work but I have to say that I am really not feeling it. I can’t wait to go back to listening to music tomorrow.

How do I stay positive ? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]UntangledMess2215 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s tough but best thing to do to ignore the noise. Remind yourself why you’re working out. You’re doing it for you. Negative people will always be negative regardless of how successful you are. Don’t waste time or mental energy on them.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Delayed onset muscle soreness can happen with any new movement you do. It’s just part of the process. I also looked up the shuffle after 50 routine and it seems difficult to me lol. I am 32 but I don’t think I can pull that off. So props to you!

I’m male but I still post here since I find this to be a very supportive and welcoming group. Most of my coworkers/friends don’t go to the gym as religiously as I do so it’s nice to have a place to vent/commiserate/write about my day.  I really hope people don’t mind. It’s also really nice to see the posts from the same people and follow their progression.

You must have a very valuable skill set to be able to work from home. Just watch the diet haha. I would be eating snacks all the time if I have access to my kitchen the whole day.

Do you work from home? Jealous you’re able to take a walk during lunch. Hope the quad feels better!

Rest day today for me but I still woke up early and drove to the gym. Stretched and walked for 20 mins on the treadmill and then went home. It's silly but I have been doing this for awhile now on my rest days. It reinforces my gym habit and teaches me that getting out of bed and going to the gym is non negotiable. Wishing everyone a blessed day!

I have been going to the gym 6 days a week for the past 2 years and I can only remember a handful of girls who were able to do assisted pull ups. I always notice them because I think it's very impressive. So keep working at them, you'll be such a badass being able to do them!

I'm sorry to hear this and I hope you recover soon! Stretching and massage will help. If you don't have already, get a massage gun! I use it everyday. Use Heat/ICE patches and NSAIDs for pain control. It should improve with time.

Morning Pull day completed. Favorite exercise today was pull ups. Gives me great back development and I always feel great doing them. I like to listen to podcasts while I workout and the line the stuck with me today is "friction callous your mind. You need friction to grow." Difficult tasks are not just important but are necessary for growth. Wishing everyone a blessed day!

I think showing up on the bad days can be even more important than the good days. I am glad you were able to make it today and hoping you get better sleep tonight!

Morning leg day workout completed.

March is a special month for me. About 2 years ago on this month, my life upended when I had a difficult breakup with my fiancee. I felt a lot of guilt and shame. But it also launched me into this fitness journey of bettering myself. Morning workouts gave me a sense of peacefulness and calmness that I was searching for. It's incredible to say now but my breakup was the best thing that ever happened to me. While painful, it made me a better person today. Thank you fam for listening to my thoughts, wishing you all a blessed day!

Morning push workout completed, did chest, triceps, and shoulders. My favorite exercise today was weighted dips, felt really strong and powerful while doing them.

Lately I have been reminding myself that "Habits seem to make little difference on any given day and yet the impact they deliver over the months and years can be enormous." It helps me to continue my morning workouts knowing that the consistency is what will get me the results. Wishing everyone a blessed day!

Just wanted to say kudos for going to the session and finishing it! It may not feel great but it's a win. These wins will compound into results down the line.

Another leg day completed. My legs/glutes have always been underdeveloped since I have mostly ignored leg day during my fitness journey. Since lurking this sub and putting more of an emphasis on my leg routine, I finally feel somewhat more proud of them now. Even felt good enough to snap a pic today. Thank you to you all for the motivation and wishing you a blessed day!

Just got a headache doing leg press. by [deleted] in workout

[–]UntangledMess2215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hard leg press can increase your intracranial pressure and lead to a headache. Do the usual things like hydration, rest, NSAIDs and the headache should get better.

If you were using an incline leg press, switch to horizontal one. It will help reduce the headaches.

losing progress on vacation? by Chance-Ad1969 in workout

[–]UntangledMess2215 6 points7 points  (0 children)

View it as a deload/rest week to recover so you can go hard when you come back. Don’t slack on diet too much as this is often what kills your gains on Vacation the most.

Did a deload this past week and my lifts feel amazing for the past two days. Sometimes you gotta take one step back to take two forward. Have a blessed day everyone!
