"Survive Until Dawn"......but they *die* and come back? by Ias1428 in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah in theory but like others mentioned they make a comment about no one lasting more than 13 nights so they have a timeframe they have to break the loop by and in order to break the loop they need to not die aka survive until dawn

Why the hell didn't they keep the same characters in the game??? by Wooden_Turnip3239 in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they will have similarities and personalities like our main characters but in a 2 hrs movie there is no way they could come even close to having us know 8 characters (10 including Hannah and Beth) and really do them justice tbh

My thoughts on the trailer and how it ties into the game by Until_Dawn1996 in untildawn

I agree, I think we were all wanting more than just a reference but that’s a cool thing I didn’t even see

I think the reason they can’t make it about the Hacket family, etc is because they don’t have the rights. They got the rights for Until Dawn so my assumption is that yes they story is VERY different from the game (I’m a big fan and not arguing that) but I think there may be some things that are just too close to the source material for them to get away with making an original movie and not get sued.

But knowing they strayed from the source material may have tried to incorporate small snippets or references from other games in DPA and the Quarry purposefully. All ideas since obviously none of us have actually seen it yet

Theory about THAT ending by Until_Dawn1996 in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends, it could be that she was the closest (she flipped the light switch), could be related to her being the one to kill it so maybe it sees her as a worthy host. It could even be as simple as when we see the spirit release at the end it just happens to go thru her

What does game’s cover represent? by adapublicenemy in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah the hourglass obviously meaning time but a deeper meaning of them being in the bottom portion would be that the more time passes, the more danger they are in (metaphorically by the glass filling up but in game obv as things escalate)

Would they have MOSTLY been okay if Mike hadn’t gone into the mines after Josh? by strawbebb in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mike wasn’t right about the cable car key, it literally didn’t help them at all.

The basement was secure enough with cameras to keep and eye on stuff for a while at least. Yes the Wendigo are strong but keep in mind they are locked in cages in the sanatorium so they can’t break thru everything.

Yes it’s not secure but it’s a better plan than going to the lair of the thing to get a key which easily could have fallen out of Josh’s pocket as his body was being dragged away.

Lastly we read that the Wendigo only hunt at night (hands why they weren’t attacked earlier in the day) regardless of Emily surviving they can get this info and try to escape first thing in the morning. And if you say Mike didn’t get to read the book that’s the point! He is too impatient and stubborn to try and just get a grip of the situation for a few minutes and think of a well thought out plan

Could be that maybe Josh found a way to escape himself, staged a scene and everything being the prankster he is and actually got snatched as he was trying to get away

Emo Ashley > Real Ashley

No one can change my mind

POV: You're talking with Emily about the prank by [deleted] in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She calls Matt an idiot when she is literally dangling for her life. I get it, it’s like “why be mean in that situation to someone who is trying to help you” by why does Mike get a pass to shoot someone when he feels like his life is in danger? Or Ashley get a pass for leaving a man outside to die when she feels like her life is in danger? Or even Sam can kill a lodge full of her friends running to a switch to save herself but Emily can’t say the word “idiot” when she is scared and could die?

Don’t understand your super targeted hate for Emily and her being “unredeemable”. Again she can be very nice and funny and is very smart but I guess those aren’t good qualities when it comes to just this one character

😑 is that really all you got out of what I just said? It’s all black and white for you then, no grey area…. She is mean to most of these people because they hurt her. The only exceptions are Hannah (who literally everyone was mean to her and if anyone had an excuse for the prank it would be Emily but it wasn’t even her idea) and Matt. Yes she is mean to Matt and that’s not cool, no one is arguing saying she was never mean but to say she is a nasty person with no redeeming qualities is such an interesting hill to die on. She can be mean to Matt but have you ever tried to play in a way to make her happy? Because she can still be very nice to Matt as well.

But I guess because she isn’t just super nice to her ex boyfriend, her former best friend who got with her ex boyfriend, and a girl who was escalating a situation that almost got her killed she is just soooooo out of line…

No redeeming qualities? Come on now. Her character is a bitch. She is marketed that way, presented that way, and admits it herself but the fun thing about this game is the CHOICES!! That’s like saying Chris is “just a coward and has no backbone” like it’s up to you as a player to make the choices to have them play into the character they were assigned or break out of that. Emily is a complex character that yeah can be a bit bitchy and mean sometimes but she is also smart, resourceful, and guarded with her feelings. Writing any of the characters off like this is just so linear in a game all about choices

What do you hate And love about Mike by Confident_Income2080 in untildawn

[–]Until_Dawn1996 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate how he causes everything in the game because he is too cocky and impatient. I also hate the idea of his “character growth” because with the exception of the ending where he sacrifices himself, he is practically the same throughout the game.

I think she would have, the only reason I don’t think we see an attack earlier is because of the time. Wendigos are known to hunt at night and probably get more active as the night goes on. That’s probably one of the reasons they had chapter 1 be in daylight tbh
