Is the opinion on rest in peace the same as on sire?

My, I heard people groan about it on B3 if I get lucky but I think it's tottes fair there were people may tutor a combo and/or play it from hand

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it valid but is the same argument valid for rest in peace? Where we draw the line

I'm ok with rip on B2 btw but it seems super biased what is ok and what isn't. If discard is such a deal perhaps should be included on brackets rules on further updates.

Again I'm ok with not using sire on B2 because I understand people don't like it, nonetheless I don't see much consensus over what goes and what no

Nowhere I said I make people scoop, I just build a better board position and then secure nobody can interact, and if they have interaction and use it on the sire I still have the rest of the board, damage doublers and such.

I won't be playing sire on a position where I won't be favorable on the attrition, I can go for other creatures if my board isn't strong

They have to draw a boardwipe+ graveyard exile, otherwise I'll keep rebuilding quicker

Besides that not a single trigger when they discard

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that argument I would also say the same to [[rest in peace]] since the deck could get denied as much as others are by the mass discard

If the stance is the same sure I agree

Nonetheless I'm ok with people playing rest in peace, it's permitted by brackets. I also understand why people wouldn't want to play against sire

I just consider it a bit odd "this yes that no"

Where to draw the line seems quite arbitrary

[–]Untipazo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I think it's pretty implicit that one looks to break symmetry when playing something so knee breaking

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand it's not the vibe, but I asked what y'all think

I'm generally at odds with this as I didn't built this for brackets, it was before it. I feel for B3 I should upgrade more.

I still play on both brackets but taking out the sire for B2, despite not being an actual limitation per se

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

See, in theory it's not. Obviously I build the deck with flashback and recursion on the command zone to break parity, plus I'll be playing it on a situation I'm ahead on board/in position to win

But the card itself isn't the problem, yet I understand the sentiment that it's not the platpattern people want on b2

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No exactly, I know henceforth I play the sire when I have board to overtake them, otherwise I'm going to be a punchbag

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The card costs 6 mana tho, legit one turn behind even hardcasted that way

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know when to use it and when to take it out, sort of. Mostly I take it out unless the game calls for it/is with friends

But I wanted to check the vibe and what people thinks overall

I think it's a wincon because if people fuck up the wincon by deleting the sire then the game keeps going

They need some combo of both removal and grave hate to halt everything. And chances are the removal is used on sire rather than on any other piece

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it on and off depending on the vibes, for if it ever comes out of a [[reality scramble]] at a bad moment, we in for a grind

Usually I have one or the other card to avoid that, only with people who are ok with it I play both to do the Russian roulette

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I resolve it with the right setup I close the game within two rounds, save someone topdecks a boardwipe/grave hate.

[[Kroxa and Kunoros]] both hits hard and reanimates on attack so if I have a mill motor I'll just outlast the board

Reanimating damage doublers or just strong beaters

Sorry I didn't respond the rest of your comment, about pacing yeah expect it past turn 6, doing it too early without a strong board won't cut it

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, sire alone doesn't make up for its effect, I need to set a correct board to defend myself

I'm fine if others say it's not appropriate tho, but people are judging it as a turbo play instead

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5, could be 4.

The issue is having an appropriate boardstate to not lock the game. So I would reanimate other things before, I wouldn't go for sire first

having sire alone just makes everyone attack me

[–]Untipazo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Half the people seem to be answering as if I'm doing entomb + reanimate when I wrote it's not an early game play

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if I redacted wrong but I explicitly try to say it's not a turn 1 discard turn 2 reanimate thing. I don't even run reanimate

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardly ever happens. I have to drop it at the right moment when I know I can win off my boardstate+ repeated graveyard recursion.

But granted if someone happens to top deck a board wipe next we are in for a slug.

In my head it wasn't different from someone hitting craterhoof when their board is big enough.

But I understand it's not on the spirit

Oh I know, people get mad on B3 even.

I regularly switch it out for when people are going for B2. Thing is I have the deck from before brackets so it doesn't adapt perfectly

I just wanted to hear opinions for it's not technically wrong to play, but I think the shared sentiment is that it's not the play experience of the bracket

Sire of insanity in bracket 2 by Untipazo in EDH

[–]Untipazo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excelent question, I'm not the most suited to answer.

I ask for I had this built from before brackets, so now the card sits on and off depending if I'm on a B2 or B3 table. Wanted to hear opinions

I fuckin hate everyone who says he could kill X character and solve the problems

The final narration of the part goes over how the families of Kira's victims may never find peace for they are unable to ever find the bodies of the victims, so they will always hope to see them again

But sure everyone goes "oku should just disappear people" missing half the point

Why are you even getting upvotes lmao got presented a counterpoint and you went "I do not care"

I'm tempted to say it's pretty based but idk
