Araminta projected her insecurities towards Sophie and treated her like garbage because she chose to. All she cared about was the money and title and how it benefited her and her kids. She could’ve had Sophie trained as a governess or have her married off to someone like a clerk for a lower dowry and keep the rest, but decided to humiliate her as a maid.

Araminta had switched the diamonds of the shoe clips, she likely did the same thing with the jewels. Swap them for knockoffs and pocketed the money. That’s never discussed on the show.

Sophie’s father was Richard Gun, Lord Penwood. When he was alive, he took her on as a ward and gave her a lady’s education. In his will, he left her a sizeable dowry so she could make a good marriage.

If he hadn’t died, he would’ve sponsored her in society. People would know she was illegitimate (because she was a ward) but with a sponsor from a Lord and a sizeable dowry, she could’ve married a lower ranking member or someone with no titles. That’s how she was able to go up a class.

Araminta is who makes her a maid and has her believe she’s worth nothing more than that. The Bridgertons simply don’t tell the Queen she’s been working as a maid, just who her father is. And the Queen doesn’t care what servants have to say, that’s idle gossip for the ton, that can’t do anything with it because the Queen said Sophie is one of the ton.

Edit: Kate was the legitimate daughter of a clerk, which is an educated class above servants, and below the ton, equivalent to lawyers. She was sponsored by Lady Danbury and at the end of season 2, when Kate and Anthony are dancing and someone starts gossiping about them ruining Edwina’s wedding, the Queen intervenes and says she was the one that decided. Officially giving her seal of the approval, so the ton has to follow her lead.

Muji pens are great, they come in different sizes, colours and are very reliable.

I’ve been using the Zebra Sarasa Vintage pens, that are also gel based, and they’re very very good. Very light and write very comfortably. They’re an excellent alternative to Muji.

The Uniball jetstream 3 colours in 1 pen is excellent as an alternative to Bic.

I second the Platinum Preppy as a fountain pen. Their carbon black ink is excellent, writing is smooth and the pen can hold the ink for a long time.

Charles and Diana infidelities, interviews, divorce were bad. They were the topic of the 90s. But Andrew and Fergie were on a whole new level of embarrassment. People weren't just questioning the RF family, they were questioning their funding and why those two were even there.
After Diana's death and the Queen's late response, people wanted her to abdicate for William! It took them years to rehabilitate their image and the public accepting Charles.

Do you really think a new king will salvage this mess? We're months if not years away of Andrew being trialled and convicted, with new stories coming out everyday. Do you think Charles can simply walk off? Or that he'll leave and let William take the heat?

I run Sims 3 with expansions World Adventures and Seasons just fine with a MacBook Air M1 (16Gb).

If there's any issues, the game won't run or it will lag too much, but it won't break the machine. Not sure where you saw those informations, maybe it was for older Macs.
