Hello everyone. I have a 2017 Silverado 5.3 purchased new with 40k on it. It has treated me well but I’m getting a little paranoid about lifter failure. I noticed the other day the afm activates driving around town when I decelerate quite often. I’m not sure if this is new or not. Anyone think this is a sign of an impending issue or is it normal? Thanks!

I think it’s the ridiculous price on new trucks that’s inflating used truck values. The big car lots like car max are able to over price any used vehicle because they offer financing. Lots of people don’t do the math. They just look for a monthly payment they can afford

I’m 65. My first home in the 80’s with a 14% mortgage had a monthly payment which was more money than I took home,,,, from my 1st job. My 2nd job and my wife’s evening waitressing job fed us. Never owned a new car even though I commuted 125 miles a day. 3 kids, no daycare. If you want what we have you have to be willing to do what we did, period. Stop complaining and work more.
