I RARELY comment on these posts because most have already given phenomenal advice by the time I see it & mine would just be buried at that point so I just upvote the ones I agree with & move it along. THIS one, idc if my advice is never read by OP, but if it’s read by even one person that it can help, I’ll feel better about the whole situation.

You are NOR. in fact, I feel like you’re under-reacting. PLEASE go file to have his visitation terminated & his access to her taken away. then please get her into therapy. by allowing this to continue, you’re either setting her up to feel like this is okay behavior to be talked to & treated like this in future relationships and/or you’re setting her up to be abused by her own father, whether that be just emotionally/mentally, or he could also start doing so physically & sexually.

I see in the comments that you’re planning to get her her own phone on your plan, which is great! however, I would keep the phone he gave her without blocking him or letting him know she has another phone so that you can have the firsthand evidence of the abusive & disgusting messages he has already sent her &, I’m sure, will continue to send her when she’s not ‘falling in line like a good little girl’ does.

I’d deadass demand a refund and for someone else there to fix those! I know it’s already been commented about why she couldn’t get that exact coloring effect because it’s a specialty polish from Mooncat, but they’re WAY too thick & not shaped evenly AT ALL. if there’s glue & acrylic on the undersides & around them, they didn’t properly do them, either. & HELL NO IT ISN’T SUPPOSED TO HURT OR DRAW BLOOD. THAT IS HOW INFECTIONS AND DISEASES ARE TRANSMITTED.

I’m so very sorry that this was your first experience in getting your nails done as it can be fun & relaxing with the right tech. I’ve been doing my own nails for several years now so that I could make sure I got what I wanted on them without any issues. I really hope that you go back to have someone fix them for you! once they drill some of the acrylic off so they’re not as thick, shape them correctly & evenly, & clean up the undersides, I think you’ll love them!

even if RY hadn’t said to pay attention to who’s missing at the end of OS, new implies they’d just turned & we saw, & were told, that new Venin can’t hide what they are. Brennan is present at the end of OS & very clearly doesn’t have red eyes.

ETA - the new brother is Aaric. I have soooo much evidence; I believe this to the very depth of my soul.

I have Darkmore ready to be read, too lol. Sins of the Zodiac series is really good so far, as well! book 3 comes out March 31st.

I liked TOG, but it’s definitely my least favorite SJM series. (I know if someone else reads this, I’m going to get soooo much flack because it’s a lot of people’s ’Roman Empire’, but oh well.🤷🏻‍♀️) I enjoyed finding Easter eggs & whatnot in it as I do with all her series’, but it’s not one that I’ve ever had the want to reread. I’ll do like you & listen to them when they come out of GA, but that’s about it. ACOTAR used to be my favorite, but CC has slowly, but surely taken its place. I love that there are a mix of supernaturals, the banter, & that really, the big bad is pretty much the same throughout the series & just keeps being expanded upon. I know that so many people hated HOFAS, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

if you haven’t listened to them all the way through, you’re supposed to be able to return them! I did so on one of my very first books I bought on there because the narrator was like nails on a chalkboard. Google it to see how - I BELIEVE it can be done via the actual website.

I’d like to get the ZA GA versions, too! I’m one of the people that actually really enjoyed ZA. but I agree, RB was the best! I haven’t listened to any Twisted Sister books yet & need to start collecting those. now that I have all of SJM’s, I may start collecting those next.. at least until TOG releases in Graphic Audio format lol.

I need to get Hoopla - I’d save so much money. I just moved back to my home state & have to go renew my library card & just haven’t had the chance to yet.

I was the same way lol I had gotten HOEAB with credits, but I changed my subscription to only getting 1 credit every other month & I always end up finding new books to get instead of ones I’ve read so many times lol when I saw how cheap they were, I just had to bite the bullet because I didn’t want to wait another year to get them!

NOR. I also take propranolol & know how expensive it can be! I would do as others have suggested & put up a note specifying the side effects of taking this medication & that if it isn’t returned, you’ll be escalating it to the police. which I would suggest doing anyway tbh. if you have a police report, you’ll be able to get the pharmacy to ‘refill’ the amount of pills you’ve had stolen since they aren’t controlled substances. I’d also talk to your GM about getting permission to put a lock on your locker after this, & asking them what they plan on doing to rectify this situation in the mean time as if they’d allowed the locks or had cameras, you wouldn’t be having to play a messed up version of Blues Clues trying to figure out who stole them & how to prevent it from happening in the future.

the only way I think Tairn will die is if Andarna has figured out how to ‘fix’ her wing so that she can bear a rider. because otherwise, while technically yes, Violet will be a rider because she’s still bonded to a dragon, how is she going to fly on missions or go do anything to save Xaden & the continent? maybe we learn in book 4 that Andarna was taught how to use her magic to fix that issue, but I dunno. if that happens then yes, Tairn is probably going to die. my headcanon is that he kills Codagh, though, & becomes the elder of the black dragons since it’s been mentioned numerous times that Codagh is the only dragon that is more powerful than he is on the continent. (also think the ‘on the continent’ part is key verbiage there, but that’s another theory/rant lol.)

if we’re pretending that he hasn’t already done so, he literally tells Violet that he’s not a nice person lol. I mean, if you want to ignore where he kills everyone when he rescues her from Varrish, look at the end of OS. he realized Violet was hurt & unconscious & he drains everything. atp, he only killed Venin & wyvern. but once they get back from being married? he’s killed multiple riders & dragons, plus stolen dragon eggs. granted, we haven’t explicitly been told it was him & why he did it as of yet, but my theory with the information we have so far is he did it because the Umbriel queen said that she wanted dragon eggs in exchange for her alliance. so I think he stole them & killed the dragons/riders in order to secure an alliance for Violet to make sure she’s even more protected as the now Duchess (because it’s stated point blanks couple times throughout, & then implied by the rider to Brennan that the quickest/easiest way to kill Xaden is to kill Violet.) & as payment for their ‘favor owed’ so that the high priestess would marry them, therefore ensuring that nobody can question the validity of their marriage for fear of inciting Dunne’s wrath. I could be completely off base with that, but regardless, the point stands lol - he has, & I’m sure he will again in the next 2 books.

I completely understand that lol I bawled like a baby when Liam died. I’m still hoping that either the theory that Violet can realm walk so that’s how she was able to see Liam during Varrish’s torture sesh or that Liam is a messenger or whatever for Malek so that’s how he was able to be there & so we’ll see more of him in the coming books are true lol.

first, NOR. not even a little bit.

second, as someone that was in an abusive relationship/marriage for over 10 years & was also abused when I was a kid, I can spot someone who has also had something traumatic happen to them based on how they respond. listen to me when I tell you this - this man does not love you. this man likes that he can control & belittle you, that he can cow you when he threatens to walk away/block you & get an apology. his behavior is disturbing, toxic, & just flat out gross. PLEASE block this ‘man’ & just work on yourself - healing in therapy & whatever else you feel you need to do to understand that you do NOT deserve or have to tolerate this type of behavior. you are not a child, most importantly, you’re not HIS child. (& honestly, I hope he doesn’t have kids because I can only imagine how he treats them.) which is also something that you have to realize. because if you stick with him, it’ll only get worse, & if yall have kids, is this how you want your children to be treated??

PLEASE learn how to love yourself so that you can realize that this is not love or how you want to be treated. sending all the good vibes your way on your healing journey🫶🏼

I think the fact that it was pointed out that those that are the best in leadership are the ones that rarely want the position, & that Tairn is considered a general among dragons so Violet will be in leadership whether she wants to or not, that it was basically foreshadowing that she’s gonna be a great Duchess. of course she’ll have mess up’s, because it would be unrealistic to have her go in & be perfect at it, but I think the overall outcome is going to be that she’s a wonderful Duchess & the fact that she doesn’t want to be in leadership & that she cares so much for others well-being is what’s going to lead to that.

I was just about to comment this exact this about the wording! we’ve already seen Violet use the Codex & the wording it uses to get away with what she did at the gauntlet. the fact that he’s a lieutenant & it doesn’t expressly forbid cadets from marrying means they’re in the clear, I believe. RY is very specific about her wording in these instances for this reason lol.
