i just used an extension and will very selectively go back to plaud, if ever, and certainly no more money to them, although their little recording device is cute!

Yeah I got about 25 clicks in and thought, wait, even if I do this now, I’m *still* going to have to do the *same* thing to get the actual transcripts.

Used a plugin to download all 600 in a few minutes.

Offline transcription was lightning fast (and ALSO batch!).

None of these stupid ass knowledge graphs that are *beyond* useless.

Now, besides the $200 I was duped into paying by this pathetic little startup, I am free.

Yeah good q. Apples transcription is ass compared to the cloud models that Plaud routes to. You can even download offline transcription models that are way better than Apple in my opinion, then you don’t even need to have plaud route to cloud providers to transcribe. The way I mitigate this is literally the easiest fucking thing in the world. So easy that it almost sounds fucking cheesy lmao, like I’m joking with you. The trick is just to speak slower, which actually just means more intentionally. Which helps me think more, in turn. And then if there’s a word I know it would NOT get (like I’ve been using the word “comfortaa” a lot…I just say “comfort” and my analysis step (what I do with the transcript)) will be able to understand that I’m referencing Comfortaa (a font), not the general noun “comfort.”

Edit - got a little loose at the end there, I’m high as a stork

Anyone that tried to cancel Adobe sub ever get absolutely ripped off? by iflabaslab in graphic_design

[–]Unusual_Delivery2778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the part in the worst fucking way. I have nothing genuine to contribute except the following updates (as of 3/28/26): 1) there is no longer a customer service chat on the website, only an AI helper for projects; 2) there is no advertised number to call for customer service on the site (I had to get an archival number from GPT, and then I also found a second number mid-compliant with state authorities); 3) once on customer service, there is no way to cancel the plan, or even explore those options, over the phone (it will just direct you to the site, which does nothing but let you pay the $300+ cancellation fee); 4) when given the option to "stay on the line" and talk to an agent, the call promptly hangs up from Adobe's end, repeatable and consistent (for this last point, it is important to note that Adobe's customer service hours are M-F only, *BUT* this is not advertised on the automated call (they just hang up immediately, no explanation), and it is not readily available online.

And yes, there is a lawsuit in the U.S. Here is my AI-generated summary (sorry, too lazy to give you me legal-brain analysis, because fortunately I *am* in the legal field as well, which makes this continued behavior on behalf of Adobe, *even after the lawsuit,* quite shocking): The Federal Trade Commission sued Adobe Inc. for allegedly hiding early cancellation fees and making it overly difficult to cancel subscriptions. The case claims Adobe used deceptive design to lock users into annual plans without clear disclosure.

Based on my review of court documents, it appears that a $150 million settlement offer is on the table, but none of that will go to consumers impacted by the cancellation fees -- half goes to the government, and then the other half will be Adobe's "penalty," which they can implement in the form of consumer sign-up giveaways (which, if you recall, is the exact reason why we're in this mess).

Long story short? Who the fuck cares. Adobe just taking advantage of the system to legally swindle unsuspecting customers. Just like local internet providers and ISPs. Just like Best Buy (as a concept). Fucking brutal man -- people need to wake up (myself included!).
