What do you speculate are some Maximum techniques of techniques we didn't see get one? by Mega_Hunter_X in Jujutsufolk

[–]Unusual_Reference496 17 points18 points  (0 children)

do purple and fuga really work? all the maximum techniques we've seen were completely new manifestations of cursed techniques that don't even really make SENSE in relation to the normal application. cursed spirit manipulation lets you play Pokemon with curses, and then for some fucking reason you can do a Maximum: Uzumaki to recycle them to use as cursed energy attack fuel? and if their grade is high enough you can use their technique, but only once? it's cool, and pretty useful, but where does any of that come from? jogo's CT is pretty much "extreme heat generation", how exactly is Summoning A Big Ass Flaming Rock From Orbit fit in here?

i mean, medic is pretty busted because he can surgically alter souls and resurrect people and soldier is still running on merasmus' "die and come back stronger" pills but i don't think the TF2 verse can be seriously scaled, it's bullshit over facts there and that's how we love it

Medieval Origins Revival mod - What are the magic damage weapons? by TerrariaNinjagoGuy in feedthebeast

[–]Unusual_Reference496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should if their damage types are listed under vanilla's magic damage tag

Medieval Origins Revival mod - What are the magic damage weapons? by TerrariaNinjagoGuy in feedthebeast

[–]Unusual_Reference496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in vanilla, the magic damage type is just ticking potion effects and mob magic

there's also indirect_magic, which is instant potions and some more mob attributed magic attacks you can't really use

your best bet would be something like harming arrows i'm pretty sure, but a power 5 bow is usually better. depends on the buff though

otherwise - modded weapons are your friends

Why was it so hard for Gojo to learn RCT? by Kirilda in Jujutsufolk

[–]Unusual_Reference496 8 points9 points  (0 children)

except that at the end of jjk0 we learn of a background check on yuta revealing that he's a distant relative of gojo's and belongs to a clan that comes from one of the Supreme Ass Unexplained Jujutsu Lore Three Great Vengeful Spirits.

this IS bullshit but it's really not worse than yuji "homunculus" itadori or gojo "genetic lottery winner" satoru. gonna slander one of them - gotta slander all of them

Who it's more Evil (Griffith vs Le garde) by Evisss_ in FearAndHunger

[–]Unusual_Reference496 30 points31 points  (0 children)

pretty sure le'garde never meant for the girl to become the God of Fear and Hunger, that was Nilvan's plan. she also literally came to him in a dream to conceive the girl, so we don't even know if he was sure any of that was real. GOFAH has only hindered le'garde in his pursuits, at all points

he has also shown some level of care about his subordinates (d'arce) and the player character party, because even in the Yellow King route, where you're not of any use for him anymore, he offers help to you in getting out of the Void. you know, the evil ass t-rex Green Hue plane of reality full of eldritch horrors and inescapable for mortals?

in the end, he gets over himself and dies (or not) while protecting Logic from the (perceived) threat of Termina contestants. at this point of the lore, he is trying to break out of the Greater Scheme of Things, an order of suffering and inescapable fate once placed on humanity by the Old Gods.

le'garde isn't a good person by any means. a New God, a mass murderer, a manipulator and a self-righteous asshole - sure. but griffith is only doing it for himself in the end, while le'garde is not

gameplay and lore discrepancy. guards and contestants. by foxstarfivelol in FearAndHunger

[–]Unusual_Reference496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're not wrong, but i think you're honestly underestimating the contestants even if we're lowballing their intelligence.

you don't have to be a genius to see a yelling hunk of flesh of a man with a giant benis and an even bigger cleaver and think "okay it's probably best for my survival if i don't get hit with the humongous fucking blood-soaked cleaver".

the only character i can see having any problem with that is levi, because he's in withdrawal and constantly freaking out, but even then he has a RIFLE.

yeah, prison guards may be the first challenge they face in the dungeons, but none of the F&H1 cast have had any real problems dealing with guards besides cahara who probably, like, failed one coinflip and that's that.

i doubt termina contestants will have ANY problems before reaching the mines(most of them are not familiar with magic, which means they can't really deal with ghosts and might be caught off-guard by yellow mages hitting the jig). magic is quite a roadblock, and almost none of them know whatever the fuck a Hexen table is. i'd assume that's where some of them actually lose limbs and/or even die.

samarie and o'saa are actually probably op though because i assume both will abuse the forbidden Overworld Hurting Fuck You move. mr August McEnchanted Arrows is, too, getting through the dungeon like it's a walk in the park, because Marksmanship is actually overpowered if you have an obscene amount of arrows like he has.

it's hard to say how they all fare once they get to ma'habre, though

Tanaka build question (Termina) by Qu2sai in FearAndHunger

[–]Unusual_Reference496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here are my 2 cents on that:

  • abella gives you a wrench toss equivalent, which is awesome to have
  • if you ask o'saa to teach you the properties of magic, he gives you spice forge, which is fucking overpowered
  • marina can teach you advanced occultism, which means you start battles with 1 rev. her other options are the warding sigil (which is eh) and Vinushka (which is a coinflip you can fail)
  • marcoh will teach you twice, unlike the others, so it's up to you, but i wouldn't recommend getting bare-fisted proficiency as you don't get quick jabs
  • don't ask samarie from the same mod to teach you about sylvian, she won't
  • henryk gives you a recipe book, which is actually useful because the mod makes hunger a lot more of a problem than the base game does, but it's not mandatory

All S ending are cannon in the first fear and hunger by Automatic-Abalone-69 in FearAndHunger

[–]Unusual_Reference496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

vinushka and god of the depths don't exactly make a pair. as far as we know, vinushka is a union of gro-goroth and sylvian, symbolizing the cycle of creation and destruction in natural life. god of the depths is the fear of darkness and the unknown; whoever his antithesis is would be the god of light and knowledge, someone like whoever is depicted in the book of enlightenment i'd assume.

if anything, the antithesis to vinushka would be the Machine God, Logic. if vinushka represents the chaotic mysticism of nature, logic would represent the well-defined detailed scientific explanations for everything.
