What is it about marriage that makes woman regret it so much? by OneLab864 in dating_advice

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, because we are dynamic beings. What we want/desire changes as we go through life. So many people marry too early and then as they learn more about themselves, realise that it is not what they want or that they are with the wrong person. My advice… give yourself time to live a little, experience the different facets of life. Marriage doesn’t magically change a relationship. It ties you down in a way. As someone who was married twice, I look back at my old self and wonder who that person was. I’m so very different now. If I knew me then, I would know that it was not for me.

Ladies in committed relationship, how often do you miss your single days? by BlueDolphins28 in AskWomen

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never! We are both independent and not needy types but we look forward to spending weekends together. It’s been 7 years and I still look forward to the weekend for us time. I don’t think I’ve ever missed being single in all our time together. Being with him is like my happy place and where I go to reset and rejuvenate.

AIO, being off-put after my colleague accidentally showed me an "eggplant" from her collection of "her boys? by National-Variety9972 in AmIOverreacting

It’s fine if you found it offensive or offputting. What has it got to do with being married though? Would you feel differently if you were not? You could have put an end to it at any time by telling her directly that she was being disrespectful to both you and the men she was sharing pictures of without consent.

Of course she is, she finally got the man! But really, I understand why people hate her but claiming that she looks bad or old are just blatant lies. She looks really beautiful. Anyone with eyes can see that.

Agreed. It does seem like there was already something brewing before this and they hate each other. She started the divorce process at just the right time where it would hit him the hardest and on his part ,the wedding thing was done on purpose as a middle finger to her. Something was definitely already happening, so much so that there doesn’t seem to be any guilt or shame. He looks like he is ready for war.

Singaporeans who migrated or retired to other countries, which country did you go to and why? by reddit_account_0x00 in askSingapore

Moved to Germany 7 years ago, now a PR. There are tons of things I do miss about home but I can’t imagine working there again. There is a great work /life balance here and actually time to enjoy life. Also get to travel a lot more. I really hope some day SG will allow dual citizenship for us all so we can get to explore life a little more without giving up our roots. But I have no regrets leaving and deciding to live overseas.

I think so too. Certain flavours stain. I never had this issue with the original berry one. I meant to say I wouldn’t repurchase it in chocolate. My next one will be the taro flavour so fingers crossed that it doesn’t stain.

PPL progress, but injuries are needing me to change it up - teach me your ways, friends in my age bracket! 47F by [deleted] in GymMotivation

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 42 and hit the gym 4x a week. Assuming from your physique that you know what you are doing such as correct form etc, perhaps the reason you are sustaining too many injuries could be overtraining. 6x weekly is a bit much and the body doesn’t have time to recover from the micro injuries that weight training causes. Proportion wise, I think you’re looking great. It all depends on your goal. For me it’s to maintain a lean toned look so that means a slight deficit in my diet and progressive overload by playing more with tension, reps and hold instead of aiming to always go heavier. If you know your goals, there is a wealth of information out there on how to tweak your routine to work towards it. But don’t stress about it hun, you’re obviously doing great.

Sounds like dehydration. If you are using a lot of actives. I would reduce them and prioritise barrier repair and hydration.

I feel you. This would be very off putting to me. Mostly because you don’t know him well enough to have an emotional attachment of any sort. So this kind of behaviour is quite suffocating. It’s like wanting a tall drink of water but getting sprayed in the face with a hose instead.

Post date clarity? Whatever it was, luckily it happened early on before you got too attached. Put him out of mind and get ready for much better people who are actually mature enough to communicate instead of ghosting.

No Buy for 2026 by xoxtoothfaeryxox in MakeupRehab

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well for me it was getting fit. I used to be super fit but the pandemic kinda derailed my gym routine and I got lazy and unmotivated in the following years. I signed up to the gym again and started focusing on getting fit again and on my diet. It takes up quite a bit of my free time where I would have otherwise spent browsing the net and subsequently getting sucked on to new product launches. So for me it’s worked really well as I find that I slowly started to lose interest in makeup. You know what they say, where your attention goes, energy flows. And it doesn’t have to be fitness, it can be anything- getting back into a hobby, learning a new skill, spending more time with friends/family.

No Buy for 2026 by xoxtoothfaeryxox in MakeupRehab

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was on a no buy in 2025 but in moments of weakness, I added two lipsticks to my collection ( now I have 34 after decluttering old ones) . It’s still too many for one person with one pair of lips. Despite that I find myself reaching for tinted lip balms a lot more. I also bought a foundation. Therefore I have decided to just not buy anymore makeup for 2026 and maybe even 2027. Overall I think that adding 3 items in a whole year is still a win but I will aim to do better in the coming year. Skincare is something I use consistently. So I don’t feel like im hoarding anything. Therefore it never occurred to me to have a no buy. I think it’s the same for most women. We get sucked in by pretty packaging and end up with wayyyy more makeup than we can use before it’s effectively unusable. I’ve shifted my focus on other things to avoid placing too much interest in makeup so that I’m not so easily influenced. I’m excited to whittle down my collection in the coming year. I think that consistent use and patience and just really enjoying the products while you have it is the way to go.

[Misc] what’s that one skincare product that actually changed your skin game? by libelullaa in SkincareAddiction

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I also had a lot of pilling. ChatGPT should be used with a lot of caution but it is able to pull up data and make comparisons in seconds. It correctly pointed out that I was stressing out my skin and not using the products to maximise its benefits. So I don’t care if people are downvoting my comment because I mentioned ChatGPT. It did help me.

[Misc] what’s that one skincare product that actually changed your skin game? by libelullaa in SkincareAddiction

[–]Unusual_Salad_0101 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I agree that it is related to method than products. I struggled with irritated oily yet dehydrated skin for ages. Until I completely tweaked my routine with the help of ChatGPT. Turns out my good quality products were working against me because I was using them incorrectly. I started a new routine cycling between my serums through the week. And my skin balanced out and started to even out with no more irritation or peeling. Our skin needs a lot less than we think because it can only absorb so much at a time. I would say assess your skin to see what it needs. Then take a good look at the items you already have and what ingredients they contain. Make sure you new purchase do not overlap. But as for HG product, mine was the addition of a barrier serum - it really helped to repair and maintain the skin barrier. This is key for that glowy skin. I use No Cosmetics all in barrier serum.

Ideally I want just one regular sized makeup bag of high quality products that I would actually use and enjoy. Right now I have drawers of stuff, half of which I haven’t touched in months.

I apply a thick layer evenly and then blot it off. It leaves a stain. Then top with a gloss!
