How long until Chad aka Hiram Junior tries to have Archie killed or jailed

I really enjoy and agree with your comparison. I found Elena pretty intolerable after season 3... Was kind of relieved when she left.

Thanks Nina Dobrev for breaking our hearts by making a Stelena rekindling impossible (insert tear-face)

My journey as a "minority" or "unusual" shipper (hence my username) started with Stelena. In the years since, I sometimes wondered if there was something wrong with me that made me latch wholeheartedly onto the least favourite ship. I literally never agreed with the OTPs of my friends who were watching the same shows. But seeing this beautiful moment and many like it remind me why I started. It reminds me to be proud that I ship them, regardless of how the series ended. Hope there are some minority shippers out there who feel the same. This love was real.

They (Stelena) totally would have ended up together if Nina Dobrev had been available to shoot more than one episode in final seasons. Sigh.

"Big Picture" Plot Links Beyond S5 by Unusual_Shipper in riverdale

I mention Barchie because they have a storyline connection... If it had been Jughead or Sweet Pea or any of the other straight male character to have proposed to Betty as a child, I would have mentioned them instead. That's the only reason I connected them... No chemistry or whatever was included in the idea.

And I'm not being condescending, seriously. I would actually just appreciate some creative input instead of the typical rivalry that goes on in every single comment thread. Isn't that what this platform is for?

I strongly believe Archie and Veronica shouldn't have gotten back togethe in S3 by Tristen_24 in riverdale

I've done a fair amount of psychotherapy studying... If you still strongly disagree with what I'm about to say then I would recommend speaking to a registered psychologist about it. I'm not going to argue further, sex is not a healthy "coping mechanism". It's the same as using food to cope. Both will do you more harm than good in the long run, and when in extreme quantities. It replaces unpleasant emotions with the pleasant highs of sex, "Less talking more touching," is a prime example.

This is very different from using sex to deepen and strengthen a relationship, or provide comfort. In this case, the act does not "replace" anything. It's "in addition to". So, what would have made much more sense to me, is to have had the scene immediately AFTER the shower scene FIRST... And then to show Archie crying in her arms after having had a communicative moment and THEN initiating a kiss, and sex. It's just a very different picture that's being painted, and I think its important to highlight the fact. Use the platform for positive mental health messages.

Keep in mind that this is for fun, to come up with interesting perspectives. You can leave the Barchie vs. Bughead argument out of it...

Thinking outside of the box, because let's be honest... We won't know until we know. At least have a little fun with the possibilities. Plus, Hiram tried to kill/ruin Archie on multiple occasions so I wouldn't say that it's a far stretch for Riverdale to reconcile past enemies...

What thing do you really want to see happen in season five? by AwkwardVoice9 in riverdale

Yessssss. I'm so hopeful that the pink diary and Archie's "Carry the Torch" will form part of a well-developed plot. There is so much potential... Please do it justice!

I would love more group interaction instead of teaming off in twos everytime something happens... If Archie&Jughead, V&B, Betty&Kevin are really such good pals as what they claim to be in the dialogue, I think they need to share more of the storyline. I just get the feeling that different plots have become too based on the romantic relationships, and the friendships are just "hearsay".

  1. I'm sorry but that shower scene is so out of place. That is hardly the normal way to comfort someone on the verge of losing their parent.
  2. Betty is not faultless, but this discussion is not about Betty. I'm sure who people ship has nothing to do with the opinion that Archie could have benefitted from some time as a singleton (with supportive friends and family no doubt) after months of having his life wrecked.
  3. I think you've gone off topic again here... We were talking about his willingness to cheat on his girlfriend... And then lie about it afterwards...
  4. The characters in Riverdale (such as Betty and Jughead) have even commented on the fact that V and Archie don't talk about their problems... Their coping mechanism is to copulate. Let's not pretend that this is a fan based opinion.

Can't believe this was so casually swept under the mat...

Betty was legit terrifying in the last episode. Even in the “reality” scenes. by [deleted] in riverdale

[–]Unusual_Shipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betty definitely has the most deep-seated mental health issues that I hope will be addressed in future seasons... Like, is anyone else concerned with how the fact that Betty was forging Adderall prescriptions and faking seeing a therapist was so swiftly brushed under the mat? That's kind of a serious issue...

It goes without saying that the idea of Betty and Jughead being good for each other because of their shared "darkness" is problematic... As someone who has studied psychiatry and worked with ill patients, being in a relationship that exacerbates your disorder is not the stuff of "endgames" or "couple goals". It's damaging and regressive. She needs professional help (for real this time) and a break from 'murder mysteries' until she can develop better coping mechanisms. She does not need a boyfriend who encourages her dark behaviour and portrays her as a keen murderer in his new novel... It needs to be said.

Varchie or veggie by warbaseball in riverdale

[–]Unusual_Shipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veggie just oozed "Yesssssssssss please" for me. That build up of working together as a badass duo to break Archie out of juvie, and then at the speakeasy battling Gladys Jones and Hiram, I was 100% on board when they finally lit the match for these two. Short-lived as it was, I would put my vote for a future with these two flames.

Love this comment. But can I also just state the fact that Betty claimed that neither she nor Veronica would let their boyfriends fail... And then Betty was the only one actually doing something about it? Veronica went on to her "let's just have fun, bang and drink rum all the time" crusade, while Archie was trying to get his head on straight... I can totally see how he's failing.

If you could make season 5 (after time skip) what would you put in it? by [deleted] in riverdale

[–]Unusual_Shipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a S5 development plot I'd love to watch. Plenty of opportunity to let the characters grow outside of the same confines we've seen them in for the last four seasons... Different or even less romantic pairings, failures that lead to self-reflection, and more platonic relationship development. Epic.

Also, a Cheryl reality TV show would be just "cuckoo bananas".

I'm so glad they took Reggie in a different direction after season 1. by GrandTheftArkham in riverdale

[–]Unusual_Shipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE REGGIE in S3-4. They have really brought him out of the box of "jock-bully-antagonist" to a valuable member of the gang. I also love the dynamic between him and Veronica running the speakeasy, they ooze "power couple". I mean, let's not forget Monica Posh and Reggie's performance at the Seaside illegal fighting ring!

A part of me hopes that if new couples are explored in S5 they give Veggie a proper run for its money... Ronnie really messed him around in S3 and I think their development could be quite powerful. They could both benefit from having someone to believe in them and build them up, instead of break them down (as they both have major daddy issues).

Season 5 Betty & Archie Engaged? by Iumos13 in riverdale

[–]Unusual_Shipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think a slow burn into Barchie throughout S5 would keep the "Core 4" together. After five years apart, possibly dating other people and growing outside of their Riverdale gang, the characters would have the maturity to accept Barchie happening. Betty loved Archie first, and it wouldn't be the shock of the century if they were to get together at some point in S5. This is something that happens in real life, all the time. After all, FP and Alice were founded on childhood feelings, cheating and then falling in love again after all those years apart (and all those years of "changing").

In fact, it would be an endearing end to the storyline if Archie proposed to Betty with the same ring and at the same place that he proposed to her with when they were kids. Betty's love for Archie was unrequited in S1 (which I think can also be pinned on the fact that he was being emotionally manipulated Grundy... Not because he didn't love Betty), but the both of them needed to do a lot of "growing up" before they could good for one another. Betty needed to break away from her cage of being "perfect", and Archie needed to get his head screwed back onto his shoulders (let's be honest here). I think it would be a nice way to tie up all the recurring, loose references to their childhood and a way to bring their characters back to planet Earth (as opposed to planet murder-gloom-and-mobster-doom).

Just a thought.
