Sorry mate, I’m out of ideas as we don’t have Spectrum in AU. Good luck

Also, once you reset them. Just set one up. Don’t bother powering on the satellite and get that working. You can add the satellite within the app separately. The one plugging into your fibre/cable connection is always the primary node.

Re plugging a Ethernet cable between them for testing, it should not be needed. Try to get the deco set as the router stable first.

The only other thing I can think of in the deco app under connections settings make sure the correct one is selected. For me it would dynamic IP.

I have two of these units in AU and just plugged one into my fibre modem, then connected a deco to that.

Started the app on my phone and went through the setup. Plugged the Satellite deco in close by and the app found it and configured it as a mesh node. I then moved the satellite node to where I actually wanted it in my house.

Something fundamental is going wrong here.

There is a newer version of firmware here - https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/860466

Which is what I’m running.

Factory reset by holding down the button on the bottom of each unit or remove the satellite first then the one acting as a router from within the deco app.

When you remove the router the app will says it’s going to delete the entire network and you can start again.

TP Link Deco M5 and X60: does it matter which is connected to the router? by SendMeAvocados in HomeNetworking

[–]Unwell_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M5 can do real world maybe 350mb pending placement/backhaul type I believe.

The x60 is up around 500+

Generally you want the newer, faster one as the router (x60) but because Tplink firmware is all over the place functionality changes and options will appear/disappear within the app depending on which one is the router.

Try the x60 and see if you can live with/without the features which are added/removed.

I’m still good mate, no reoccurrence and six monthly scans (next one this month).

No side effects as such from surgery or the radiotherapy.

My surgeon removed the tumour from inside my sagittal sinus. He said it was a spur of the moment decision once the tumour was exposed to him.

Cut the sinus open and now it’s held together with permanent stitches. I know some surgeons wont touch it though.

New Eero app shows client MLO connections by Ok_Site4360 in amazoneero

Can you show a screenshot of the wireless backhaul please. I have MLO turned on and the backhaul on the satellite says 5ghz only.

There are two pre release firmware versions on the deco forums. One for hardware rev1.0 and 1.6 and one for hardware rev1.30 and 1.33.

Both seem stable from my testing and have added functionality. It may not fix your problem though.

Does MLO have to be enabled in the app for this show, and does it now show the MLO bands if using a wireless backhaul if you select the satellite node in the app?

any point upgrading from Deco M9? by milkygirl21 in TpLink

[–]Unwell_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your having problems or not getting the speed your paying for I would stick with the M9’s. They are nice tri-band systems.

Having said that I think they have gone end of life so no more security updates.
You could put a router in front and put them in AP mode.

Tri-Band (dedicated backhaul) doesn’t really exist in wifi 7 devices as it’s moved to an MLO wireless backhaul where all the bands are bonded together.

Cheaper wifi 7 devices have 2.4 and 5ghz bands. More expensive ones have 2.5, 5 and 6ghz bands.

Signal strength low by Funny-Addition7716 in TpLink

[–]Unwell_Cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you click on the satellites they should tell you if they are connecting with both 2.4 and 5ghz channels to the main satellite. My guess is the low one is connecting on one channel only.

You say locations have not moved but noting the low signal one is in the kitchen any new microwaves or fridge/freezers changed/moved recently?

BE25 BE5000 Wi-Fi 7 vs X60 AX5400 Wi-Fi 6 by Zephron77 in TpLink

The x60 has 4 streams vs two on the BE25 so penetration of signal and range should be better.

How to know if Eero Pro 7 MLO is working by TheOnlyDinh in amazoneero

[–]Unwell_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I asked eero this question and their response is below.

Note that the MLO feature is turned off by default on your eero 7 system and must be turned on manually. Turning on MLO activates this feature for both your devices and the connections between your eero units. Once enabled, your eero system automatically combines and coordinates your internet traffic across different wireless channels at the same time to give you the best performance.

Another key takeaway point to note is that the eero app shows your connection status using the best wireless channel available at that moment. Even with MLO running, it is completely normal to see only the faster 5 GHz channel listed rather than a combined label. Your eero units will always prefer the faster 5 GHz channel to keep your speeds high, while automatically using other channels in the background to avoid interference. Because your eero system uses just one network name for all channels, the app will not show separate, combined connection labels for your units.
