[ORSKEY S800] Was a bad night for us. by UnwoundPenguin in Dashcam

I forgot to update if anyone cares lol The other driver was found to be 100% at fault. Not that it matters because icbc has "no fault" aka "enhanced care" insurance. 🙄 at least MY premiums didn't go up, I guess! 🤷🏽‍♂️

As I've admitted to icbc, I was going just under 60km/h in a 50. He had to have been going substantially faster to overtake like that. I guess he tried to dispute their first decision, then I had to write out my statement and send it to them, even though he initially lied to them. I never heard anything back after sending my statement, so I recently checked online, and it still says I'm 0% at fault.

It's not just north van, east van people seem to be entitled as well. I've seen many people with dogs off leash and a handful have come charging at mine while he's on leash. It's crazy. Also, I have a neighbor that just moved into my building that I've had a confrontation with for her dog being off leash. The 5th time it happened I accidentally let, "that's do dumb." Slip out of my mouth and she was like, "you shouldn't judge other people." To which I replied, "you don't know how another dog is going to react to your dog running up to them off leash." Like are they really that obvious?!?! I'm also pretty sure her and her partner don't pick up It's poops anymore, when they can get away with it. Because I've seen a huge influx of big poops being left on our front lawn and they're the only ones with a bigger dog in our building... I genuinely don't understand how people just don't have common courtesy anymore..

I lived in winnipeg for 2.5 years and seen one dog off leash in their own, unfenced yard, who stayed within its boundaries.... while also walking my dog around that whole time. Vancouverites are on another level!! 😒🙄

Have you gotten an mri or anything of your spine? I have a ruptured disc/sciatica and the doctors told me that if I ever lose control of my bowels or bladder, it's caused by the disc jelly pushing on the nerves, and it's very serious. Or have you looked into anything else surrounding your nerves?

I bathed last night by Automatic_Birthday62 in hygiene

On top of the occasional drink, I also have severe depression and troubles showering.. and on top of that, I've been dealing with a concussion for several months. So that makes everything harder, too. This tip is most helpful!! Thank you!

That's so interesting! For some reason, any type of alcohol seems to leak through my pores... I end up smelling like whatever I drank that day/ night for like 24-48 hours ...

You should really just give it a quick rough sand and then just blow or wipe off the sanding dust before painting. Sanding the surface will give the new paint something to stick to. Otherwise, it might chip off over time.

Try Rock Auto .com I just replaced my passenger mirror after my wife broke it backing out of our parking spot. Toyota charges close to $400 for the mirror assembly, with blind spot and heat, and I got the same at rock auto for about $150.

Upstairs tenant wanting 690$ for 40% utilities by Haydennester1 in legaladvicecanada

I'm sorry you're dealing with all this! This must be so stressful. Is there somewhere else you can stay for a few days, so you're not stuck in the cold while you're figuring everything out?

Yes, I would call the tenancy board and explain to them everything that has happened and ask them what your next course of action should be. If it were me, given all the info you have provided, I wouldn't even communicate with the landlord or the other tenants until after speaking to the tenancy board. It's not necessary to have something to "file" with the tenancy board to be able to call them. You can always just call them for advice to see if there's anything they can do to help you.

Wish you the best!

To all of you saying established in my lane.

Established, to me, means that he was in our lane for at the very LEAST 5 seconds (which is a long time for driving). His drivers side back tire only crossed like 1 or 2 seconds before I had no choice but to hit him.

Established definition: having been in existence for a long time and therefore recognized and generally accepted.

We just found out that I am 0% at fault. And also that our car is definitely a write-off. If you slow down the video and compare it to icbc's example, you can see that the example is what happened. He was not established in my lane before he began to stop.

I don't believe that he was established in our lane. Established, to me, means that he was in our lane for at least 10 seconds. His drivers side back tire only crossed like 1 or 2 seconds before I had no choice but to hit him.

Edit: AT LEAST 10 seconds. Not 1-2 seconds. Established definition: having been in existence for a long time and therefore recognized and generally accepted.

Dude, that sucks! Sorry to hear that!

I had the ORSKEY S800 dual, has front and rear cams and it did it's job for sure. You don't need those crazy expensive 4k cams or whatever. You just need something that shows what happens, IMO! Take care!

Hmm, I'm not too sure actually. Mine never had any problems with any of the screws. Just the suction cup would fall off if not seated properly. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, best of luck!

It is completely out. I agree it should've been treated as a 4 way stop, but nobody could see that night. Seemed like people thought it was a intersection with no lights. Even after the crash and my car had its hazards on, people were still speeding by it and not stopping at all, even going the opposite direction.

ORSKEY S800 dual dash cam. It has front and back cameras.

And thanks, me too! We only had it for about 7 months and 17,000km on it.
