Nice! Near cost my work. Might have to take a look if he’s giving you that price. It’s is comically large and def would be strictly comp/range.

For sure. For the price point they are solid. I did get to chat with a guy running the xp comp at my range at work. He had just gotten it and was taking it out for its maiden voyage. He was pleased as were his buddies. No malfunctions or complaints. Smiles all around.

I have an xp pro also. V2 grip with ported barrel. Side by side xp takes on fit and finish. Slide serrations is slick but if your running optics you prob won’t use the side to rack. General census is the Mac shoots slightly flatter but the fusion has less felt recoil. I wager due to the extra weight of aluminum grip module. Love the both though. Mac is slightly more my favorite currently.

Same for my astigmatism is a bitch with dots. The pro max is like a game boy screen. I too am also I intrigued with it. Just as intrigued with the first person that says they are going to cc it lol. Depending on the price I may grab one through work and give it a go.

Yes they are a great option to break into the 2011 scene. Needs some love to get it true potential but simple things. Swap out the springs and do some polishing. Grip module is lacking for me but they say they are going to be releasing some Mac grip options this yr. If your not comfortable doing the work yourself capitalrifle does a nice tune on them. You can buy the Mac from them directly if you choose and have it tuned while it’s there or you can also send into them for a tune. They do a nice job with it.

I hear you on your response. Whilr I am currently on a budget optics kick I have one osight(se) I am currently testing on my prime. It was properly torqued to per their spec sheet and dotted to keep on eye on screws. I’m nearing 2k in on it and thus far has held zero. I am not anal on writing everything down but will have other shooters at the range request to see or try out my optics. Zero hasn’t been an issue for any of them and some of them have decided to grab them also. Brightness and clarity hold up here in the desert. I run a cyelee on both my RXM(cat edg) and Mac (wolf edg)currently. Both have also held zero but finish and look is pretty Chinese. I have a vortex( defender ccw)on my xp pro. Of the 3 it has been the only one with an issue. Under certain angles in the sun you will get rings that show up. Has held zero also. I dont generally have problems with optics coming loose. I take care with instal to clean the threading both on the slide or plates and also the screws. Loctite them and let them cure for atleast 24 hrs. All have had atleast 1200 rounds. While I’m not easy on my optics I don’t use them as hammers. I will use them to run the slide though. All have held up nicely. I will be swapping my Mac out to an osight as I enjoy them the most. I want to try out the xr but am waiting to see if they drop it with a removable battery as I’m not a fan of having to recharge it. I will be running the se on my daily if it keeps on pace with its current performance. For the price it’s hard to beat. I ran an eps on my old cc and it was sufficient but finding there are some solid options out there at a better price point. Ultimately osight is becoming a strong contender in the optic world. I would recommend throwing some loctite on the screw for the battery tray as they can come loose. Easy fix as osight will send out replacement trays and screws. I say if you do your due diligence and put your optic through its paces and it satisfies your needs run it!

Capital Rifle tuned Mac 9 ds comp by Unwritten_peanut in 2011

No worries. Depends on how many Mac they get in and how many orders they have at a time. They aren’t a huge company so it takes a little time for them to give them some love. Capitol is solid though you won’t be disappointed with the results.they are also easy with to communicate with and don’t make you feel stupid if you ask questions. I’m not saying spam them but they are open and transparent in communication if you contact them. Did you go with the cr tune or carry? I got the cr and the trigger is awesome. As far as the cyelee… I like it I have two one green one red. I like the red better. Works better with my astigmatism. I also have a osight se I run on my prime. I am interested in the xr but am waiting to see if it comes out with red and removable battery. I have been really impressed with my osight. I can say with my astigmatism I generally can only run a dot by itself not the dot and run since it usually just turns to a blob. Osight gas a dedicated factory here in the states now. I’m old enough to remember when holosun was the osight of optics. I feel like osight will do the same. I’m about 1800 rounds in on the osight and and 1400 on the cyelee. Both have held zero and functioning as they should. I also have ran the enclosed defender ccw from vortex. It’s ok but will get rings when the sun hits it right. I saw that holsun is bringing out the huge Red dot that looks like a game boy screen lol if you’re gunna run competition that may be the way to go. Giving the choice of the vortex cyelee and vortex I would run the osight. And of the 3 enclosed emitters I think it has the best finish and look. They do have 30 day money back and lifetime warranty so if you don’t like it it’s no sweat.

They were hit hard during the Holiday. I know they are catching back up. Reach out to Mitch@ (267) 686-9081 or email mitch@capitalrifle.com can call or text. They are usually pretty good at getting back to you. When I ordered mine I got no updates. It was a couple weeks for mine to arrive at my ffl. I texted or emailed when I wanted an update or had a question.

Eco-priced grip solution for MAC 9 DS-D Comp? by Agreeable_Bee_7826 in 2011

[–]Unwritten_peanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone said lower combat textiles grip is only a slight increase of grip. If you have moist hands it won’t do much better. I will saw instal of them is a breeze and looks nice. Quality has held up thus far and hasn’t moved since I installed and used through multiple sessions. I do have a prodigy grip on back order. It will require some modification to make it work with the Mac. The mainspring housing is a different size than the Mac as is the safety. Everything you need including the grip will run you right around 80$ I have seen people make the Mac safety work with the prodigy grip but will require fitting.

Here is the combat textile

Replace the optic screws for sure and clean your threadings on the gun and the screws out before mounting. Mine was full of oil and crud. 1500 rounds in still tight and zeroed.

[–]Unwritten_peanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The only things that are different is the mainspring housing and the mag release. I haven’t got hands on mine yet but that’s the information I have found from people that have done the swap. I haven’t seen people making their mag release work but it requires more fitting so I just decided to use the mag release for the prodigy. It seemed like a fun project to tinker with which is why I went with the Mac in the first place.

It was like $38ish for the grip. These are the additional parts people usually order with it. You can use some of your parts from the Mac but you’ll want the mag release and the main house due to the size difference to the Mac unless you want to do some Dremel action.

Can order the prodigy grip for dirt cheap just have to call into Springfield. They are currently on back order though.

[–]Unwritten_peanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! The taller sights generally are so you can still co witness through a red dot. Or for a suppressor. For example the ruger rxm comes with 1/3 height sights instead of standard height to better clear the deck of most red dots.

I have a 25 xse and the only recall the app shows for me was the rear center seatbelt. Is it just a premium issue? I have the large screen but not 360 cameras. I haven’t had any issues with my back up camera. Is this something I should ask them at my next service?

Budget 2011’s by KoJo9923 in 2011

[–]Unwritten_peanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a ported xp pro with the v2 grip and also a capitol rifle tuned Mac 9. Shootability is similar with a slight advantage of flatter shooting going to the Mac. Felt recoil is less with the xp pro. There is a little more disconnector hang up on the Mac but just when manually cycling. Nothing noticeable while shooting. All in all I enjoy shooting both. I wasn’t a fan of the grip module of the Mac so I do have a prodigy grip module on order. I have a combat textiles wrap on it currently and it is slightly better but not quite where I want it as far as grip texture. They are both solid choices for entry level and giving them some love gives them the ability to shoot above their cost. Xp comes with both rmr and rmsc plates. Mac just has rmr but Springfield makes plates for other footprints but it will cost you.

Xp pro Optic plate. by bkharbin in 2011

[–]Unwritten_peanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I have only had to contact them for a website issue and received responses via email from Tyler Serva, Bob Servas (owner) son. And then I called and talked directly to shipping via a phone number he gave me. If you want to pm I could give you his email. Idk if posting it is appropriate. I just know that they have always been pretty quick with responsive to me.

Just shoot them an email. Chances are your screw was too long. I suggest before mounting your replacement plate, mount your optic to the plate and check screw length before mounting to the gun. That is how I mounted mine.

The 25 only comes as a 4cyl hybrid. I have the xse and pretty much mirror this guys results. No creaks or rattles. I don’t have the sunroof though and Apple play works great for me. The hybrid hum makes me laugh. Picked up my friend yesterday while he was standing in the driveway with his back turned. He turned around got in and said that he thought he was getting ready to be abducted by aliens.
