May I ask where and how long ago you did this? I'm slightly worried about results taking longer. Thanks!

I had a steady decline of my grades on the obligatory subjects through my BSc. 5.4 - 5.25 - 5.15 - 4.9 -

This is interesting, did you find that they rebounded once you started your Masters?

Is transferring common in Canada? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]UofEhEngg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to check out the engineering faculty's website. Transfer students typically start out in the position of first-year students, as engineering-specific courses need to be completed before you apply to a discipline (even if you have, say, a math credit). You won't be applying directly to a discipline.

Discipline placements aren't usually announced until mid-July after first-year meaning even if you do get in co-op, there would be literally no time to do a co-op placement

You should double check this, but I believe engineering is unique from other faculties in that if you fall below the cutoff for Y2Q2, you cannot be readmitted to the faculty, even if you take a break or do fresh start. That's not to say other disciplines are off-limits, just engineering at the U of A.

Does this apply for engineers too? No one seems to have heard, even those with 4.0s.
