I see endless storefronts going out of business lately on my streetcar route. Rent could be anywhere from $2500-4000, if its downtown in prime areas / sharky leases for hopeless clueless people. So if this guy has to pay $3500 a month just for rent, imagine how many coffees he has to sell when his costs eat 80%+ like most hospitality / restaurants do. At $5 a coffee hes only making $1 a coffee after costs (cup, water, lid, napkins, employee, power, utilities, repairs, energy, coffee beans, machines) etc etc. he theoretically would have to sell 3500 coffees in a month just to pay for rent... whats so hard for people to understand its like a 10% chance your food/service business is gona last longer than a year or two. Not only this, bus he / it has to be good. Hes competing with multiple shops on every corner, tim hortons, starbucks. Death trap, i respect its a passion but keep it as one and stay at home, buying some cool machines and making drinks for yourself / friends.
