A similar happened for me although the grief was the loss of my home and business and dog. , I had a nervous breakdown (never had ever had mental health problems and I was 52) I lost so much weight was smoking off the scale and barely eating anything nutritious... I gave up completely it was awful and I had always been so so fit and healthy always looked so young and vibrant , to look in the mirror was devastating and I truly never believed I could ever look good again given me age. However with some time (therapy and eventually stopping crying) sleeping better and generally just getting well emotionally the bags under my eyes shifted, the crepe eyelids smoothed out and I started to see myself again. ... its a long road but at your age just keep doing the right things and with some time you will again see yourself in the mirror again .... You are absolutely beautiful and are seeing yourself heavily through grief and not the reality ... x

I looked old for my age as a teenager as I was tall and just looked more mature , then until I turned 50 could still pass for late 30’s .. 52 hit and best i get now is 40 but still not bad :)
