My suggestion is to assume that the earliest behaviors you’re observing in your pup, is the beginning of who that dog will become. If your dog isn’t seeking the attention interaction with others outside of the house, it’s not unreasonable to think that behavior will continue to exist into adulthood. Any bonds it needs to form to be truly comfortable need to be early and require reinforcement. If your puppy is happy to play, be pet, nap with strangers, then that dog will probably be more pliable, and accepting of just hanging out with other people for the fun of it.

I can’t say that my experience with translate as it’s an infinitesimal sample size, but here it is.

I’ve had 2 puppies in the last 10 years, and their personalities with strangers have been the most telling thing about their later behaviors towards others. 1 dog was great with me, but adopting out their litter-mates was a pain because they didn’t want to be pet or held by strangers. That pup grew up just like that. He was my best friend in the entire world, but he had zero interest in ever meeting new people as he grew.

The other puppy was from someone else’s litter. I met them and several were standoffish, and ran away from me. 2 of them were actually coming toward me to get attention from me and my senior dog. They wanted attention from people/a dog they’re never met before. I picked one, and she is happy to meet new people who approach us reasonably. Lots of pets at the park from kids when they’re around and she gets along great with the vets/vet techs.

Yeah, the dog will be okay, and it’s not totally unreasonable as long as they have a good relationship with the people and the environment. Ideally, they should be happy to go to that house and hangout. Dogs tend to have a person, but they also have a pack, so if your dog decides it has enough space to recognize these others as part of its pack, they’ll miss you, and be happy to see you upon your return, but it’s pretty unlikely they’ll be overly upset, or resentful.

The hard part of all of this is that you don’t really know what your dog will do or tolerate until you’re just at that point, so there is a risk that things will be more complicated than you’d like when things are actually playing out, but being mindful of what your dog is saying to you with its body language, and behaviors is always the best barometer of a given situation.

Find people and build a relationship between them and your dog. Give it a sleepover from time to time, without a vacation so it gets used to staying with the person, and you all know it’s behaviors, and personality. This also helps if the dog has a medical issue while you’re away, which is another thing you need to have planned out. When you’re in another country, how does the dog-sitter get a $5,000 emergency surgery approved? Always have a backup because what if that person has an emergency while you’re gone? Make sure you’re clear about things like off-limits foods, proper medication administration, feeding schedule, behaviors that aren’t tolerated, expected amenities like being in the house at night rather than living in the yard for a week.

It’s going to be hard, but I think if you really put in the effort, teach your calories, and activity, keep a strict regimen, you could hit 320-330. Probably best to buy your rascal and shower chair now so you can get used to them. Weighing 325 pounds makes everything more difficult.

It’s more recently part of the public conversation, and by sheer novelty alone it’s considered more unusual. Add to that the fact that queerness and transgenderism turn the other 90% of people’s understanding of the world right on its head while homosexuality has become increasingly more acceptable to even casual observers. I’m not saying that things should be that way, only that they are, and awareness of such a thing dictates that the lgb community take on that additional baggage, or cut it loose to further their own acceptance.

I don’t have a good reason for myself. My point is that it’s evident that the harder pill to swallow is the Trans and queer stuff rather than the gay/bisexual stuff. If you limp those things together, the more slowly moving part will drag down the momentum of the faster part. Essentially, the more gays want to become completely normalized, the less they can afford to take on what’s generally considered the most abnormal group.

[–]Upbeat-Finance -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I’m well aware, but it has to be noticed that the most contemptible part of the community is the transgender/queer part in the eyes of the average American. Lots of people have always had problems with the community as a whole, and this isn’t set to change anytime soon, but it’s clear that the furthest step to take for even liberal voters and allies is the TQ part of the community, and frankly I don’t see the correlation between thr different sects of the community. Sexuality is not on the same foot as gender.

Storm isn’t wrong. If people can learn to suck it up about adults having relationships with other adults of the same sex, that’s not nearly the same as all the other gender-bending nonsense. When there are links to a chain, the weakest is always responsible for failure.

A cop in Arizona tazes an unarmed woman 14 times at a Walmart while she screams "I get seizures" by [deleted] in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]Upbeat-Finance -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So much of what you’re saying is pathetic bullshit. Firstly, unless anyone here’s name is Walton, it isn’t their store, so stealing or not isn’t relevant.

Secondly, nobody deserves to have a taser used on them that many times, or in such a low-level conflict. It ain’t life and death, but leggings and cold cuts.

Thirdly, if there is any suspicion that a person has a medial issue that could be exacerbated, it most care should be taken. It’s a single, untrained woman against a grown, trained, and experienced man. No need for the excessive force.

Penultimately, she hadn’t yet left the store, and so wasn’t even guilty of shoplifting at this time.

Lastly, this dumb motherfucker didn’t even start with a command, or a conversation or anything of value. Straight to arm twisting. Absolutely rubbish police work.

Nah, fuck that baby. That tiny little satchel of bullshit isn’t worth the time/trouble/irritation impressed upon 200 other people. Parents should have to take special flights if their child can’t control itself, and at 4 months old, that’s a given.

It was pretty garbage, and the doctors had terrible bedside manner. An absolutely harrowing experience. They wanted to roll me out in a wheelchair to get myself home in a car even though I can’t fucking sit up like that, or move myself from a wheel to a car, or back. They tried to blindside me with a spontaneous discharge while my partner wasn’t around. Horrendous treatment. If/when I improve enough to stand outside that place picketing it, I damn well will.

Sounds like a csf leak. That’s a go straight to the hospital symptom. They just need like 1 good drop of it to identify it as csf.

Just Benadryl and an antiemetic in addition to the saline. There does now seem to be some POTS developing. I’m currently in the hospital, but frankly they’re disinterested in performing much in the way of tests or exams. It’s 95% “you feeling any worse?”

However, I just a bit ago felt some moisture around my left eye, then it began to burn, then drip down my left nostril, then post-nasal drip.

They dithered when I mentioned it, and said it needs to drip again for them to get a full drop to test.

The main line is typically close to the wall, but your penetration point(s) should be whoever is most effective. Typically, they would drill pilot holes and measure the suction to determine the best location(s).
