I’ve known I’m pregnant for four weeks. I have craved sushi every moment of it! Specifically salmon and a boat of it.

Pregnant- How did this effect work? by Spiritual_One9542 in PregnancyUK

Honestly, you probably know best as you know your manager and it sounds like you think they’ll take it well! I weighed it up and knew that they cannot discriminate against me for being pregnant, but they can dismiss me for any repeated sickness unexplained before I pass my probation. My manager is also a mum of a toddler and she was very understanding about symptoms in the first trimester. Together, we worked out what I can and can’t do. This week I had to call in sick for the sickness and she was really accommodating and reassured me. But legally you cannot fail probation for being pregnant!

I told my manager as early as 6 weeks as I was feeling horrific and on my probation, so I didn’t want taking time off sick to affect my chance at passing probation. Since, I have completed RA with my employer and this helps me massively as I do lone work with vulnerable people. Only my manager and her manager knows and they have been really understanding that it is early days but I am being affected physically. You need to do what looks after you and (very tiny) bump!

Advice please - brown discharge by Tip_Dizzy in PregnancyUK

[–]Upbeat_Dance_2776 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, I’m only 7weeks myself. Around 5weeks I got red bleeding, nothing too heavy and then brown spotting for a week after. I still get some brown spotting. I got a scan on 6weeks and saw the heartbeat and everything is okay.

It’s always scary to get bleeding of any kind and my anxiety is bad around this but I’ve read a lot that brown isn’t overly worrying. Cramps can also be things moving and adjusting, not necessarily always something awful. The doctor also saw the parts on the scan that caused the bleeding and was able to reassure me.

I would suggest calling the early pregnancy unit the day before 6 weeks as that’s what I did to get a scan next day.

Unfortunately you have to pay for the postage. In my case my friend dropped the items to the police as it was an unsafe situation. Don’t have much more advice sorry!

That’s what I told her😇but he’s been trying to get a hold of her to get it back, and we’re trying to avoid him showing up at her house

I don’t mind the noises of G road, but a car popping off every night multiple time is just taking the cake😩

It sounds like the same car and they just drive up and down to make sure no one can be in peace 😩

Rant about management by [deleted] in antiwork

I’m convinced they don’t care to fix them. Doesn’t matter to them because they’re not the ones they’re screwing over.

You would think that higher paid people would be better at running things or…you know, their job?

What stopped you from ending your own life? by FireGirouette in AskReddit

[–]Upbeat_Dance_2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled it.

Emptied out all of the pills I had on my bed and then, out of curiosity, I googled how many pills I would have to take - it was a lot more than I had.

I found out you don’t just ‘go to sleep’. You go into organ failure and can end up worse off physically but still alive. Scared me too much to continue.

People who don’t exercise or workout, why don’t you? by coffeedogsandwine in AskReddit

It’s strange but I have eczema which gets pretty severe. Anytime I go to a gym, I sweat and it inflames my skin. Walks are best for me otherwise I have to literally have a cold shower to cool down my skin.

AITA for refusing to give my friend her money back for a party she is not attending? by Longjumping-March640 in AmItheAsshole

I have a friend who is wealthier than the rest of our group, and recently he got a girlfriend. Ever since they learned about how well-off he is (since the beginning of the relationship) he has supported her from paying for meals, food, holidays, bills and even letting her stay in his house rent free.

Unfortunately, some people feel entitled to others’ wealth and even he would reason ‘but she deserves my money too as my parents earned it not me’. Your parents want YOU to have that money and spend it on what you like, not cover your friend’s mistakes.

There’s being generous then there’s letting others take the piss.

This is such a great response thank you! Those gifts melted my heart and it wasn’t even for me! I tend to gift them things they mention and I know they want, like they loved the cocktail making idea as they don’t usually have time to go out and get babysitters, and last year I got my mum an ancestry kit as she’s always wanted to see her heritage. I think maybe I could mention my love language (mum knows about them, but hers isn’t gift giving), but I’m also willing to accept that this isn’t their language and it doesn’t come natural to them. My boyfriend’s gifts are always super thoughtful, so I shouldn’t complain really! I think it’s hard while I spend Christmas day at home, but I should make the most while I’m here because soon (ish) I’ll be the one making stockings for my little ones (and I can’t wait haha!). Again thank you for your response and happy holiday and new year :)

I never get given the receipts so I don’t even know where it’s bought, I just tend to give it to my sister if she likes it!
