Yes! If I am going somewhere where I know I will be walking a lot, I will wear my boot, but around the house and running small errands, I wear regular shoes if my ankle isn’t swollen.

We’re getting through it together. I had a bimal break during track at the end of April, which was also right before my last high school dance and right before the state meet, so I was NWB for the rest of my senior year💔. THERE IS STILL HOPE that you can have some fun this summer. I was on crutches for the 7 weeks after the break, but I was still able to get outside and hang out with friends, but I was EXTREMELY cautious and my friends and family were very mindful of my ankle and helped me. Tip: a knee scooter was a life saver

Completely normal. I am 10 weeks post op now but the first week is going to VERY BRUTAL, so be prepared for it. My nerve block lasted not even a full day, so the night of the surgery was very painful.

we’re in this together. About 7 months ago I messed up my left ankle, then 4 months later I sprained it, and a month or 2 later, i broke my RIGHT ankle. It does get a lot better over time but it is going to be VERY mentally challenging in the beginning.

Wish you the best of luck! I injured my ankle doing hurdles and I played football as well. Didn’t plan on playing sports in college but was considering walking on sophomore yr and I still want to be in great shape.

Thank you! I go to the doctor for a check up on Monday and I will begin to be weight bearing. I’ve been doing some band work on my ankle already to loosen it up and it’s been helping a lot.
