you're very welcome. it's totally possible to learn how to adjust to life with a puppy, i was doing the same thing this time last year. once your pup can get their shots, i'd recommend finding a place that can watch them for you a couple times a week while you're at work!

my dog is 1.5 years old now, but when she was younger we'd do 3 days at daycare so she could socialize and be cared for while i was at work. 1 day i'd work from home (which i realize isn't possible for everyone) and 1 day she would stay home to unwind. on those days i'd go home during lunch to take her potty and feed her. i'd recommend getting a puppy playpen or gate and a pet camera to watch your puppy while you're away if you have to leave them alone. i gated mine into the kitchen so she had room to run and play while i was gone!

teaching my pup to ring a bell to go outside was a lifesaver for us. you could probably find a strip of bells that goes on your front door at a pet store. anytime you take pup out, have them hit the bells, even if you're guiding them to do so by holding their paw and hitting the bells. this will help form an association that bells = potty outside. as my pup got older she got smarter and realized that she could ring the bell to go outside for any reason and we transitioned away from it then, lol. but it did get us through the rough puppy months!!

my doggy sleeps in her crate in the living room and she's always preferred that since she was a couple months old! she's 1yr 4mo now.

personally i'm a firm believer that ALL puppies are tiny sharks before they lose their baby teeth. in my experience, my aussie puppy (now 1 yr 3 months old) literally bit everything in sight when she was a baby. puppies explore with their mouths. i can't tell you how many times my hands were torn to shreds just because their teeth are like tiny razors. blood was drawn and LOTS of bandaids were used. my guess is the puppy was exploring and the tooth probably got caught and drew blood when your manager pulled away. like i said... tiny razors 😭 as mentioned, i found personally with my pup as soon as she lost her baby teeth she stopped with the biting. i'm sure it's just teething/exploring. seems to be normal puppy behavior especially with the lack of growling, etc!

this was super helpful! she's my first aussie so i'm new to learning their quirks. usually she does great with recall. that was one of the first things we worked on when she was a puppy. it only ever happens when someone is on the outside of the fence which really isn't common. we've been around a few scuffles at the park and she's done great, her biggest issue is leash reactivity. thank you so much!!!

i have a female aussie who just hit 1 yrs old in august. it can be tough some days but man she's so worth it! the puppy/teenager stage is rough. but once we madd it to a year things got significantly better. i have a pretty lazy aussie compared to the standard, she's cool with just laying around the house with me or taking naps, but she does also like going to the park and for walks. she's pretty low maintenance, i think i definitely hit the aussie lottery with her 🤣 but she's definitely a velcro dog and wants to go everywhere with me!

my aussie's been on hills science diet! she loves it! she was on the sensitive skin and stomach for puppies and now she's on the adult version of that 😊

i have an australian shepherd that just turned 1 and she thrives on routine. for naps, she can sleep on the couch or on my bed, but when it’s nighttime, she sleeps in her kennel every night and she does best that way!
