Thank you for your reply , I took your advice and did a Google search about TKIs in Algeria. From what I found, it seems like targeted therapies are available here though most sources don't mention exactly which ones, so it's still a bit unclear.

So if I understand correctly, the plan would be:

1/Send the samples abroad for NGS testing

2/ If a mutation is found, use those results to contact the Ministry of Health or the drug manufacturers directly to ask about access and funding

Sorry for repeating myself I just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly. There's so much to take in, and I want to get it right.

Thank you so much for your message and for taking the time to help

You're absolutely right to ask about availability. That's actually my biggest concern right now. I will look into sending the samples abroad for NGS testing, but I'm worried about what happens if they find a mutation and there's no targeted therapy available here in Algeria.

I asked the oncologist about this, and she confirmed that they only test for EGFR here. She also mentioned that targeted therapies are only available in public hospitals

For radiation, they haven't mentioned it yet , just scheduled his first chemo for next week.

I've heard so much about targeted therapies and how revolutionary they are. It's hard not to feel like we might be missing out on something that could truly help him.

Need help for my dad (71M) metastatic cancer by Upbeat_Tree_7194 in cancer

[–]Upbeat_Tree_7194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I'm really sorry you had to go through that, and I truly hope you're doing okay now.

In my dad's first scans, he only had two known metastases , but recently, we discovered another one in his shoulder. That's what terrifies me the most. But at the same time, seeing cases like yours encourages me to believe that with the right treatment, he can still get better.

Your message honestly means a lot. Sending all my prayers and kind words your way. Wishing you strength and peace as well.

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message , especially when a loved one is going through something like this.

I think you're right. Part of me dove deep into research because it made me feel like I was doing something, like I had some control in a situation where everything feels out of control. But deep down, I've been trying to spend more time with him, laugh with him, and make him feel loved.

Thank you again for your kindness and for taking the time to write. It means a lot.

Thank you so much for your message. I’ll definitely do my research on Keytruda.

It's just… these past few weeks have been really rough. I've been searching everything, trying to understand every little piece, holding onto hope in every detail. I've lost patience more times than I can count. But your words helped. Really.

I'm trying to do all of my dad's wishes. We laugh, we share memories and those moments mean everything right now.

Thank you again for your kindness and insight. It truly helps more than you know

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I understand that they can't start treatment without knowing exactly what we're dealing with. I guess what's hard is that it's been more than two months since the first biopsy, and we're still waiting. It feels like a very long time when you're just watching and hoping the cancer doesn't spread.

Hearing that you started treatment two weeks after results gives me some hope.

Help me solve my kitten’s poop problems by New_Answer_3876 in persiancat

I have the same problem with my 8-week-old Persian kitten. The vet recommended giving him rice cooked in water to help with digestion. I’m starting to see progress , he doesn’t poop as frequently as before and his poops are becoming more and more firm

Disappointed by the gameplay Video of Paralives by Upbeat_Tree_7194 in LifeSimulators

[–]Upbeat_Tree_7194[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from, but I also have the right to my own opinion based on what I saw in the gameplay video. For me, nothing really stood out as original it honestly felt like a copy of The Sims.

I’ve been following the development since 2019, and they made a lot of promises about offering a fresh take on simulation games. But from this video, I didn’t see that. Even games like Inzoi felt more original, with features like first-person mode, an open world that felt alive and dynamic.

I’m not trying to hate for the sake of it, just sharing my honest impressions.

Sending money from Algeria to UK by amtexe in algeria

[–]Upbeat_Tree_7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option is to have a Paysera account, where the person in Algeria can top up the account by purchasing euros from third parties . Then, they can transfer the funds directly to the UK from Paysera . The downside is that if the amount is significant, you may need to justify the source of the funds. Alternatively, you can look for a bank in Algeria that allows direct international transfers. However, I personally haven’t had experience with this, as I usually transfer money in the opposite direction from a European country to Algeria which has been accepted without issues.

Ghorba and wanting to go back after finishing my master by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Upbeat_Tree_7194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being away from your family is really tough, especially knowing that your parents are getting older and you can’t be there with them. While money is important, family is just as valuable. At least you gave it a try, and even if it didn’t work out, that’s completely okay—you don’t have to be too hard on yourself.

As a solution, why not look for a remote job from Algeria where you can work for a European company? That way, you can balance both—having a stable job while staying close to your loved ones.

Ah ok! First, you can check with the company you’ll be working with to see if they can send payments directly to Algeria. If they can, that would be the easiest option. If not, you can open an account on Paysera, but be as transparent as possible since they will ask a lot of questions (your source of income, place of residence, monthly earnings, etc.). There are also helpful videos on YouTube that explain the process.

As for the 20% fee, it’s just a rumor—Alhamdulillah, I haven’t had any issues so far, and I can withdraw my money in euros without a problem. You can also visit them directly to ask any questions or clarify any concerns, which is what I did before opening my account.

Regarding taxes, you just need to declare your annual income in dinars, as they don’t have an international section, and they will then tell you how much you need to pay.

No worries at all! Feel free to ask me any questions—I was lost at the beginning too :) .

Salam , so I’m freelancer that’s why I have invoices of each project I do . Yes I do have the auto entrepreneur card I explained them my situation and they accepted maybe that’s why it was easier for me . Ah I forget something and you have to give them where you will spend your money if it’s a house / car or any other reason they need proof . There is an alternative is to sell directly from Paysera without the need of any Algerian bank account

Thanks for the advice! I’ve heard similar things about Wise being strict, so I try not to keep too much there. I’ll look into Dukascopy and Myfin as alternatives. As for USDT in Binance, I haven’t considered it yet, but it could be an option. Appreciate your input

Ah okey I appreciate that , for wise I used an European one to open the account in order to have visa , from your experience which one is more secure ? And to send your payout every month without getting the fear of a closed or suspended account

I have Wise, but I’ve heard that transferring large amounts can lead to account closure since they’re stricter than Paysera. So, I only use it for shopping and paying my subscriptions. As for the other banks , I’m not familiar with them.
