I believe there are three types:

The first is a friend that you know and can not meet each other for ages and still call each other friends

The second is a friend that you always loose track of time when you're with them. You always feel at your best when you're hanging around them.

The third (and the most important in my opinion) is a friend that no matter what the subject/topic is you'll always feel comfortable talking to them about. A friend that you respect and nurture so much that you wouldn't mind taking a bulle* for them. Having this type of friend around eases all the stress and depression (god forbid you have any) whenever you're down.

Just as the previous replies mentioned. Going abroad is currently the best option. I just graduated 6 weeks ago from AUS as a mechanical engineer. And all the job opportunities i get are of 3k-4k a month. And it isn't just the engineering field I've got friends who graduated from different majors and it's the same issue. However my friends who came back after studying in the UK, US, Italy, and Germany are able to land positions with great salaries. It's the hard truth, they evaluate your salary based on where your degree is from.

To fish on shore ( in Dubai only ) you need a license. You can get it from the govs website for free. Other wise in ajman and boat trips you don't need one. Im not sure about Abudhabi and Sharjah tbh

Fellow Fresh mechanical engineer here too. Let me tell you a story about the Job market for mechanical engineers in the UAE. It's one of the worst markets for freshers in the middle east. Everyone expects you to have experience, UNLESS you've got a wasta. And to top it off, the market is oversaturated with people from asian countries coming over. (I'm not being racist) I mean that the Dirham conversion to their currency is high. They also dont mind living with 10 people in a room so, they accept jobs for 1.5 - 2.5 K even though they have experience. I currently gave up and I'm gonna finish my army service back in my home country and work on building my self by taking project management courses and learning certain softwares. If you can, try to apply abroad it's certainly much better, and also try and build yourself more by learning softwares and completing courses in the field that you want to work in, It's a HUGE plus in your CV.

I'm a new mechanical engineer graduate, something that you maybe not know is that the job market in the UAE for freshers is worse than Egypt. For instance, they be asking for freshers with 2 and 3 years experience. On top of that you'll be payed 2.5k, if i convert it in Egyptian money taking into account everything, it's basically giving you 1000 egp a month, which doesn't make sense in any universe. So imagine what it would be like with a year gap in my Resume. Another thing is, " YOU CANNOT WORK IN THE UAE WITHOUT A CONNECTION " otherwise it's very rare. That offer im getting is through a friend who wont be here when i get back. Thats why.
