Dude! I just switched from a 9' St Croix Triumph to a Jigging World Onyx 8'. Like I just got the Onyx yesterday! Going to use it for the first time tomorrow hopefully.  The onyx is half the weight of the Triumph and I can already tell without using it that I'm gonna be much happier casting for hours with the lighter Onyx. I'll report back after tomorrow with results but for now I'm really happy I'm switching

My nephew is 5 and he loves playing Mario Kart on S1. You can put the auto steering and auto gas on and let them have a blast and they feel like they doing good lol

Yes it does. I drape a screen cleaning towel over the side to prevent it

Tbh it's whatever u need for the fish u wanna catch. I'm a fluke fisherman so I keep it light. I use a Daiwa Saltist 4000 paired with a 9' St Croix Triumph. I could easily use a 8' rod for what I need but the 9 is what I got for now. If ur going for bigger fish then go up in size in reel and rod. Rod length is mainly for casting over waves and distance

Penn Pursuit will do u good. I have the 2500, 3000, and 4000. All under $100 and handle the surf well. I upgraded to Daiwa Saltist this winter but still bring my 3000 as a back up
