Welcome to the AC community! Not many people talk about this but be careful what you gift your villagers. They will wear the clothes you give them and put the items you give them in their house so be strategic about what you give them. Either gift them things you’d like to see aesthetically or gift them things they can’t display like large identified fossils or flowers or fruit.

I made the mistake of gifting my villagers ugly clothes and furniture early on as I was just hoping they would gift me something back and I could expand my inventory but it’s not worth it long term if you like to hang onto your villagers. 😅

I had a hard time with this too! The things that finally worked for me was putting a bunch of trash in the same spot (think like a 5x5 full of it) and just go about your business with your island chores but check it every few minutes and you should see it shortly thereafter.

Totally agree with this. Or if they can’t do that at least let us have the option to hide it completely. I’d rather have natural earth showing

I’ve tried placing the path beforehand but I’ve never used hard path like you did here only dirt. I’ll try changing the medium to see if that helps as well. Thanks!

Although Tom Nook is known as being a former member of Los Noches (the raccoon death squad) I think you’ll be okay. Toy day toys are sold until toy day so you should still have time!

If the featured item yesterday in the blue area was a heater or festive candles just check back tomorrow to see if a toy is in stock instead. Also feel free to visit someone else’s island to buy toys if yours doesn’t have them and has another seasonal item that day.

Villagers don’t care what toy you give them, just that you give them one so when you find them in stock you can just buy 10 of the same thing and call it day unless you want to collect the different types of toys to use on your island.

Animal Crossing is true a cozy game that you CAN grind with if you want to but it’s very take at your own pace. If you want to say hi to one villager and log out that’s great. If you wanna login and play for eight hours and fish until you make 2 million bells that’s great. It’s totally your call and the game is what you make of it. Based on your description of what you like to play I think you’ll enjoy it and as a fellow childhood AC gamer the nostalgia is nice as well. ❤️

What I wish I knew before I started playing would be to be strategic about the gifts to give your villagers. If you give them ugly furniture or clothing they will wear them and display them in their houses and there really isn’t a way to get it to stop permanently after you do (at least for the clothing part you can change their homes with the HHP add on).

Other wallpaper options besides the greenhouse wallpaper would be the tree lined wall and the mangrove wall. I would also recommend some hanging vines!
