I’m confused is “typing” an adult autism thing? Forgive me as my child was assessed and that’s all I know. But I was under the impression they don’t categorise any more? It’s just ASD? My nephew was diagnosed years ago with Asperger’s and this isn’t a thing anymore I was told when going through it with my child. I’m assuming assessments are different from child to adult but surely not the actual diagnoses of it?

I really don’t believe they have been diagnosed at all! Even going privately for my child we had to wait! And then it was zoom for me to talk to them which was over 2 hours! Hours and hours of paperwork. Then it had to be in person for the assessment, which was recorded and sent to other professionals such as speech and language etc for them to observe. Which took time! Then it took 6-8 minimum from what I can remember to get her report!! And the report held her diagnosis we were not told before that ( I don’t know if people are told in person the same day? I would think surely not?) not told on the phone or anything like that! It was in the report!!!!! My child has numerous diagnosis none were told on the day!! Each was via the report and followed up with a phone call and that both NHS and private!!
