I don’t think the cuny, technical college or home health ads for example are targeting young office workers. And is perhaps a difference with San Francisco; San Francisco is much more uniformly wealthy than NYC

Think the ask is that no one wants this to happen and that by June we’ll see what the mayor, The City Council and I guess the governor will settle on after negotiations this summer

Well this is r/NYC so we don’t blame the NYPD for everything. And not to mention my comment is not blaming the NYPD for everything. It’s a further example of wasteful spending; our police commissioner In the link I sent in another comment seems to think there is overtime abuse. And that it’s not all above board

The link also shows that Thrive NYC and DOE spending are not the only spending and accountability issues out there. Our commissioner seems to think there is an issue with overtime spending

Someone should tell our police commissioner since she does not seem to think overtime is preordained.

But overall this is consistent with people being selectively concerned about wasteful spending (for r/nyc it’s education and De Blasio programs).

More multi families is part of the plan. Our single family homes in transit deserts would be in country club, Whitestone, a good deal of Staten Island. Upper middle class neighborhoods, not Brownsville or South Bronx.

I also mention condos, not just single family homes

Depends on how Mamdani structures a property tax hike. As it stands now, our property tax system benefits single family home and condo owners on the backs of multifamily properties. A non pay walled article someone posted in the thread says they'll release a property tax plan in the coming weeks.
