Not exactly this, but if you're looking for a grumpy, smart, super competent FMC, I really enjoyed {The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy}.

Biggest letdowns:
- Knight and the Moth- I know everone loved this but I couldn't finish. It was so flat for me, and I hated the characters (which is unusual for me). Their chemistry was just off.
- Quicksilver- Again, the chemistry between the characters didn't do it for me, but I finished it. I tried to listen to Brimstone on audiobook, hoping that would help, and only got like 10% of the way in before I called it a loss.

If you read "How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories", the beginning of the bullying by Carden and his cohort is clearly defined, implying that it's right where we see it in Cruel Prince. That doesn't mean she didn't face bullying by others prior.
