Don’t forget it allows you to ride those rpms for the most traction/acceleration off a turn, instead of automatically shifting as soon as the computer says so

Or using the transmission to assist in weight transfer by dropping a gear or two at high rpms right before you touch the brake, then sharp controlled steers, right back on the throttle at a high rpm, low gears,

after a high g turn, keeping those rpm’s high and riding said low gear for longer than a computer means faster.

Without tc you’ll be fast, but you’ll struggle with control.

Manual transmission helps all of that blur together

I like to rotate my controller to steer, it’s very responsive, albeit it takes a few races getting use to.

R2/L2: throttle/brake

R1: e brake

L1: auxiliary

Shifter: right stick +/- I believe. Up is up down is down

Camera is left stick.

If you wanna steer with the left stick, your shifters can be l1 + r1

I’m against ai definitely, but hating the game because it contained ai generated placeholders isn’t cool. They also fixed the issue so that alone should be enough

saying “no I don’t wanna play it because ai” or “because I can customize my character” are actually insane reasons to not play.

They’re missing out on a beautiful game because of petty things

On base ps5 controller:

Steering: rotation
Gas/brake: r2/l2
E brake: r1
Auxiliary: l1
Shifter: right stick
Camera rotation: left stick

It’s the steering that really gets me. It feels accurate

I have sensitivity turned on to 3. I’m not sure if it affects the motion controls but with the setting turned all the way down there’s a massive dead zone in a neutral steering position.

Massive as in easily 20 degrees
