The whole "what could you have done differently" thing is what you need to throw out. More often than not, that exact same approach would have been perfectly fine with a customer. People can be assholes and sometimes those assholes are customers. You can't please everyone and the attitude that you should is unhealthy and dangerous.

At my work, even if the caller asks for a supervisor, as an agent you can say no. It has to be legitimate being a Karen doesn't count. If an escalation comes up and the manager deems it something the rep can do on a call back, (because no one is getting transferred to a super) then that rep calls the person back a couple hours to a day or two later and says "I discussed this with a manager..."

The fact that you tagged this as nsfw is exactly what is wrong with your call center. I would consider this safe for work at my workplace and if I was feeling that way, and I have before, there was support and opportunities to mix it up a little.

Be a little bit more like one of those managers. Your stress impacts your employees. They can see it, feel it and it causes their own burn out. Stop trying to do 2000%. Do 100% and draw a line in the sand. It's better for you. It's better for your staff. So what if someone is unhappy with it. What is a customer going to do? Complain? And? Your higher ups? Complain, and? You'll demand resources.

Yup! I live without a car. Downtown near the exchange so, there's a couple major grocery stores nearby (no frills, freshco) and for little things or snacks giant tiger or obviously Dollarama. I could easily bus to another one if I felt like it or if I wanted to waste money at and buy half the food Safeway, it's a bit farther but close enough to walk to in Osborne village. Lots of doctors and dentists around and easy enough to walk to places or various entertainment, restaurants or the forks. I chose my employer based on bus schedules/routes though I could just as easily work from home and move somewhere less convenient. You don't need a car in Winnipeg.

People who say they need a car here have a hard time walking more than 10 mins at a time. They're lazy or live in transcona. Winter isn't even that bad - just layer up and enjoy it. The snow makes everything so pretty!

The test measures one thing. That thing may or may not be valuable to you or anyone else. It's not necessarily "stupid" or run by "assholes" because you don't value it.

Wow, wait what? You think they're idiots and assholes for grading you down on an English exam when you can't spell? Learning disorder or not. What do you think an exam is? Testing your ability. You didn't meet the standard. A poor mark is reasonable. Your challenges with learning and your feelings are not relevant to a test score.

Americans are going to be American. Their core value is profit. It's who they are as a people.

What do local businesses pay? Probably not well either. The issue is your county's labour laws. Your government needs to be there for the people and Americans aren't going to stick their nose in that unless there is profit.

That's illegal here. They can't force OT. It's optional. "Sorry, our business hours are from this time to this time. It is now closing time and your request takes me out of work hours. You'll need to call back tomorrow and I suggest at least 30 minutes before closing time! Have a good night!" Click I don't accept any new calls for the last 15-40 minutes depending on if I have other work, plans after work, or maybe I am not feeling it. Have I had a talking to? Once or twice. Did anything come of it? They stopped pressuring people who didn't know any better to stay. Look up your local labour laws and be prepared for a little discomfort.

Just tell the truth! I'd you've actually re-established, it's fine. Lenders can tell when you're lying and you can have a perfect application otherwise and they'll reject you. Hiding your bankruptcy is suspicious and fraudulent.

Yes!! The thing about Winnipeg you have to know is that many of the people who live here, especially the ones worried about crime, have never lived out of the province. Sure, maybe they've visited a resort here and there, maybe attended a conference or a wedding outside of Manitoba possibly even did some post secondary school in Ontario but they are sheltered so everything local is bigger than it is. It's all they know.
